That's a shame, too. They had another Bock they they released on tap a few years ago at it was really nice. Gleaner Bock. Clean and traditional.

Space Rock as long as I can remember has maintained flagship status as Michigan only. But yes, definitely check the dates as I know the Space Rock around here is always 4 or 5 months old unfortunately.

Ha, maybe it's because I haven't seen it on the shelves in a while until last week that made me think it was gone.

Man, this one was tough to track down. I thought I missed the boat by waiting a week, as I hit all the stops you mentioned with no luck. Figured I’d hit Wine Castle on the way home just in case, and was able to snag the last sixxer they had!

This was reminiscent of tracking down Shorts Cake back when it was super limited (2012-2013 maybe?)

Anyway, can’t wait to try it....

I dug it, gave few bottles tosto friends and they seemed to enjoy it as well. I don't think I could do more than one in a night though.

It was more sour than I expected but still very good.

If you want to save yourself some trips around town, check the Short's beer finder on their website. The distributor normally updates the deliveries to their accounts same day. Sounds like you are in the same area as me, so most places in Plymouth and Livonia get their Short's delivered on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that next time. My history with beer finders in the past hasn’t been great, but sounds like this one is accurate.

I dig sours, so I’ll likely be a fan

All right Short's Fans, here's 134 brews, alphabetical order, with style and BA rating. Variety pack one-offs, former seasonals gone off to the winds, and limited releases that haven't seen shelves in a bit. A trip down memory lane: a sweet, boozy memory lane. Who will be the one that Short's BAs want to bring back from the mists of time?

At this point, we can divide them in two by seed and let the brackets play out from there. Or, if we can find two more to add we get four brackets of 34 a piece. I'm up for anything that makes it easy.

Once every brew is seeded I figure we can start a new thread in the Great Lakes forum for the tournament and poll for match winners. I figure each round should get at least two days for people to vote before moving to the next round.

As always, suggestions are appreciated! Thanks to all for advocating for their favorite forgotten brew.

Would it make sense just to give two beers a bye. I would suggest the highest ranking beers in terms of average better not pull bridges are variants. Immediately catching my eye were psychedelic cat grass in publican porter. I think both are worthy of byes.

Byes would be a great idea. For the curious, here's the list organized by BA rating:

I apologize for noticing this late in the game, but why isn’t Spruce Pilsner not on the list?

And oversight on my part. Definitely fits the criteria. And a personal favorite to boot. Easy enough to update the sheet.

I thought it didnt make it because it has been in a hoppy sampler pack. If spruce makes it so should aww jeah, goodnight bodacious, and hellacious rock since they have also been in six packs in the past.

I guess one way to look at it would be that the beers you mentioned might have a better place on the list than those beers with the bottom scores on the list.

I really enjoyed Gingersnap, I must have been the only one though for it to land at the bottom of the list.

I enjoyed it too. By way of comparison, nobody will acknowledge that they enjoyed Cinnabilly.

Definitely one of the coolest labels! A little too much cinnamon for me though.

This is the kind of thing I'd love to see played out... A sleeper ale that finds its way into the final eight or four. Who knows?

I'll get those other candidates added to the list. Can anyone think of any more chain-specific bottled brews (Citra Local's, My Good Boy, etc?)

Magician is currently at Our Family stores. Shorts Shandy was last summer.

After looking at that list and remembering so many....am I the only one who thinks they aren't nearly as experimental as they used to be since the sell out? I guess they have tried more sours. ?
