Short's Brewing (2021)

I'd pay a couple bucks more a six pack to see some of the old classics come out again. Can't wait to see whats in the tried and true sampler this fall.

 

Haha, I asked for a hint about what might be in it and got a wait-and-see answer, so I'm hoping it's something like last year's Super Hoppy Holidays, three each of six brews, but with a mix of styles. Based on the name, I assume it'll only be stuff that's been released before which kind of narrows it down, I guess.

 

I take it you got the latest Refreshin Session? How is Lil Sticky?

 

I think I like Lil Sticky more than Lil Huma!

 

My last couple of purchases of Huma Lupa Licious have been so disappointing - what happened to the "complex hop theme park" that it says on the can?! No discernible hop flavors whatsoever. Awful malty nothingness! The package dates have all been within 2 months of purchase, so if any reasonable amount of hops were used, the flavors should still be apparent. I have to wonder if this is still or ever was considered a "flagship" beer for Short's - if so, respect it and make it great again, or continue neglecting it, while you produce gimmick beers.

 

Crazy how palates can differ, Huma is the pinnacle of IPA's for me. I actually have a hard time finding it around here sometimes it sells so well. Your comment actually seems kinda "trollish" like maybe your salty about something else. Who knows, more Huma for the rest of us I guess.

 

Cotton_27 I am glad you're finding Huma that you enjoy. I am not going to purchase it in the future. No trolling here, just honest feedback about what used to be my favorite beer. Too malty now! To be fair, same problem with Two Hearted Ale and Surly Furious. No dominant hop flavors which to me are requisite for any IPA.

 

Wow, if you're not getting hop notes from Huma, Surly, and Two Hearted you may need a palate break! Have you tried switching up to lagers for a while?

 

OK, I finally got to try Lil Sticky and, yes, it's superior to Lil Huma (IMHO, of course). And it's the only "light" version of an existing IPA (Huma, Two Hearted) that feels related to its big brother.

I really enjoyed this one the last go around, with Sabro hop's odd combo of piña colada and mint creme flavors. Although as a kid my favorite Slurpee combo was Mountain Dew and Piña Colada, do with that recommendation what you will.

So, I don't know what's going on but I swear a Blackberry Galaxy IPA was posted as coming soon on the Short's Facebook feed.

I wish I had taken a screen cap at the time instead of being lazy, because it's gone from the Facebook feed now. The post did reference and contain link to the release schedule, but the release schedule was never updated to include Blackberry Galaxy either.

So maybe, possibly keep an eye out for it sometime soon?

 

Per the Shorts report it will be out later this month!

All right, finally got an official word on release date. Start looking for Blackberry Galaxy starting now.
