Short's Brewing Company (2019)

Hopefully this doesnt affect the 2nd/3rd/4th quarter releases this year. Looks like 1st quarter releases already have their labels approved, except for maybe Batch 10,000.

 

Looks like this hit some stores in Metro Detroit today. I also saw some Bellaire Brown cans as well.

 

An SBA loan for a company partially owned by Heineken.. err Lagunitas? I think these are the things that Our President is trying to expose with this extended shutdown. No pity for Shorts here.

 

Missed this the first time around. I feel like this is very close to a Freedom of ‘78 - the malt bill on this one might be a little thiner. Wish I had a fresh ‘78 to compare...

 

Oh boy, I'm listening. Freedom of 78 is one of my favorite IPAs. Maybe I'll grab a sixer of unofficial when I can buy beer again in February!

 

Not Unofficial is pretty close to tasting like it has fruit added without having any fruit actually added. I asked when it came around on tap last year what was in it, and
they use Sorachi Ace, Citra, Mosaic, and Idaho 7 hops in Not Unofficial. If that gives an idea of what to expect.

 

It says on the bottle brewed with mango and guava.

 

Heh. Well, that's what I get for going off memory.

 

Sipping a not unofficial noe and i have to say it is very simular to freedom of 78' . a little lighter in the body but still a solid beer

 

I’d recommend it if ‘78 is a favorite. My bottles are dated 1/10 so come Feb. 1st I don’t feel like the hops will lose much of their edge.

Looks like Short's Mart has bombers of Stache Bender in stock. I wonder if we will see it quietly hit distribution like Biurbon huma did last month.

Well, here it is folks: the end of an Era. Much like we bid farewell to Pandemonium to make room for Space Rock, we now say goodbye to the 'Rock to make way for a new flagship: Juicy Brut.

I'm genuinely on the fence here, and I'm hoping for the best. I had Hibiscus Brut up at the pub a few months ago and it was fantastic. Ten Tickles I'm in the fence about (it was the lemon).

 

At least according to the Beer Fest app, this will be there! Short's has always been my first stop at the WBF.

This is one sour I actually enjoy having more than one of. Tastes like a nice, tart raspberry covered in dark chocolate and finishes with a little kick in the tonsils.

 

Had this on Saturday. Best sour I've had from shorts. I had the wine barrel aged version.
