Weird, I'm looking at the inventory for Imperial Beverage and Machu Bechu is nowhere to be found. Chains only?

Never mind, found it in a different file.

I'd say not quite as prominent as the passionfruit but definitely there.

Just picked up the new sampler, It's about thyme is crazy good! Better than I remember from when I had it on tap at the pub. Perfect balance of honey, hops, and thyme. Six packs of this one please!

    Wow, it's another...

    NEW BEER UP!

Just added to the release schedule, supposed to be available in the next week in MI, OH, and IN. On tap only.

Who've ever thought we'd see a collaboration between Short's and Heinek.. *ducks flaming marshmallows*... I keed, I keed!

Let's hope this one is as good as another collaboration IPA made with guava.

If it is anywhere close were in for a real treat. Freedom is amazing. I think I went through 3 sixers last year.

Sorry if this has been addressed, a cursory search didn't reveal any info but I'm no Steve Jobs....

@SeanfromShorts is there any reason you don't put the A.B.V. on your bottles/cans?

I'm dumbfounded that any brewery would want their customers to have to chase down this info, but I also respect your brewery and want to give you the benefit of the doubt.

    Any insight is appreciated.

How are the other ones drinking? I saw a pack out in the wild for the first time yesterday but was mostly intrigued by It's About Thyme. Not that I should really have to justify $18 for 12 most-likely great beers.

But you know, budget and all that.

I've always wondered why this isn't law, given that an inexperienced drinker can find themselves in a situation where they have a couple beers and find themselves completely plowed at a bad time or situation. Seems like the amount of intoxicant in something is reasonably important.

My guess is that breweries sometimes experience enough variance in ABV that they don't want to go through all the extra work to determine and label everything precisely if they don't have to. Not saying this is the case for Short's necessarily, but unless my memory is failing me I do think there's been some repeat beers over the years that have seemed to have reasonable swings in ABV from year to year. And perhaps some first-time-bottled selections aren't precisely known until they're in the bottle, well after the labels have been submitted and approved.

All conjecture on my part, but it's something I've been curious about too.

Chief Hopper is phenomenal, the other two are good. But Hopper and Its About Thyme are worth the price.

Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is

    NEW BEER UP!

This one is on the schedule to be available between now and March, which kinda-sorta-almost makes it a seasonal. As the release note says, Critterless is going outside the state for the first time to cover the Great Lakes distro area.

While I don't drink this one myself, I'll still be buying a sixer or two because my wife loves this one. If anyone out there has friends/family/complete strangers who drink wine but don't like beer, this is the perfect ale to get them hooked on. While flagship Soft Parade was originally meant to capture the wine drinking market, from experience I've found Critterless really wins them over.

Outof curiosity I checked the TTB this morning and found this:

Not only is Soft Parade getting a refresh, but it looks like Short's is going to start listing ABV, at least for the flagships, I'd guess.

Any idea what's going on with their Illinois distribution? It's been spotty at best for the past month or two. All the staples are gone and the only sixers I'm seeing on shelves are the Superfluids, S'more Stouts, etc. Thanks for any help you may be able to lend!

I can only guess - try contacting Short's through their website, they'll respond pretty quickly, especially if you end up contacting Emily. She's been very helpful when I've had questions.

But-pure speculation - if I remember correctly early last year they had rejiggered their brewing and distro schedules because product was taking its time getting to the shelves. The result was extremely fresh product on the shelves but reduced inventory sitting around so some accounts were without some flagships (I think Huma was affected) for a few days or a week.

But like I said, contact them through the website:

    https://www.shortsbrewing.com/contact/

Also, @SeanfromShorts @ScottatShorts hop on here every now and then. They might be able to help, I'm sure they'd want to know if folks who want their beer can't get it.

Other than specialties, you'll start to see ABV on all packaging.

Interestingly enough, I don't particularly enjoy seeing ABV on brews- enjoy the roll of the dice, I guess.

Thanks for the suggestion - I reached out via that link and got a reply pretty quickly (see below). Hopefully, this helps anyone else in Illinois who was wondering the same thing I was.

    "Hi Jim!

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding distribution in IL. It is great to hear from people who are looking for our beers!

We do have full distribution of our flagship products in IL and working to ensure that our brands are well represented in the market. Illinois is a top priority for us and I ensure you in the coming weeks and months you will be seeing more of our brand around Chicago and IL.
Please know that you can ask Binny's to order Huma if their location is not currently carrying it. We have a supply at the distributor!

I don't believe Critterless will be heading to Illinois this year, but our sours are something that will make their way to Illinois in the future.

Hope you get the opportunity to head up to our brewery and enjoy a Huma fresh from the source soon!

    Cheers!
    Pauline"

I would say that the honey is prominent but nowhere near overwhelming. It hits strong right in the middle and fades throughout the finish.

Revisited Manchu beechu and it is as good as I remember. Lots of tropical fruit, mild sweetness but still has the right amount of hop bitterness in the end. Keep it up Short's!
