Went on the tour of the pub this weekend for my bachelor party and let me tell you, Jack was very knowledgeable and blew away all of my non-craft buddies (and myself) with his knowledge and passion. Interesting to hear about the barrel aging warehouse among other things.

There was a great tap list, too, and I'm happy to have brought home a growler of Cat's Pajamas. Keep it up Short's!

 

Just found out I'll be up in elk rapids this weekend, and was excited to go to Shorts Fest, as I thought I'd miss out this year. Then I found out it is sold out, which let the wind out of my sails a bit. Guess I'll have to head over to the pub Saturday or Sunday. Can't believe I'm finally going to miss out on a Private Stache release. I'm hoping Cat's Pajamas lasts until I get there...

Spruce update for those looking in SE MI.
At lunch today I saw 5.5 cases at Rochester Hills Trader Joes.
$12.49 per 6, $2.09 per single

 

I have a friend willing to help me out looking for Spruce Pils. He is in Grosse Pointe. Anybody have any advice on the area? shops to check? i'm doubting it makes it down to chicago for me and would like to get my hands on some of this amazing beer!

 

Tell him to look at Trader Joes. Have him call first to make sure they have it

Yeah, I hadn't seen it around metro Detroit yet (went looking for it Thursday night).

 

I highly doubt anyone around here is looking for Spruce Pilsner in the Hillsdale area but just in case Broad Street tavern has 6 packs for $9.99 and they have it on tap! Hard to beat if in the area

 

Key Lime Pie has landed in GR for those interested. I'll pass, but what I really want to know is where is the variety pack??? It is starting to feel like Imperial is sitting on this one for a while until shelves are cleared of the old packs. I've been regularly checking the places that normally seem to put the variety packs earlier than anyone else, and.... no luck...

Thanks for the update. I know the variety packs don't usually get the kind of attention the limited releases do, but I'm pretty excited for it. Kolsch 45 is solid, Mule and Blanco sound refreshing, and after Citra Local's I'm ready for another Local's experiment.
