Platos in Ferndale just got a second drop FYI

Got some at Wixom Liquor but they only got two cases - sold me three bottles. I'm sure they are gone by now - I'd call first.

I did learn that there are two stores named Discount Drinks - the one that is 2 miles from work (which I can leave at any time I am not in meetings) and another one in Wyandotte. Unfortunately I assumed the Discount Drinks by work was the one getting in on this - learned at 12:30 today that I was wrong.......

The beer is really good. Nice mix of tropical and dank in the hops both on the scent and initial taste. Finishes a bit bitter on the back of the tongue, throat (in a pleasant way for my taste). Just enough malt for balance and not a bit more. It's definitely more mellow - no punch you in the face or bursting flavor.

I think the freshness has a lot to do with this beer - put 4-6 weeks on it and it probably wouldn't be as good.

 

Just picked some up in Columbus Ohio for $12.99 a six

 

I wonder what people paid there - $18.99 a six, $4.99 a single?

I hope you have found it elsewhere, and if you did you paid less then Pine Knob Wine Shoppe!

 

Wisdom sold me one bottle, lol. So that'll have to do. Had some on draft, and it's damn good. Have to imagine this leads to similar things down the road from shorts.

Drinking an Oracle from wixom as well...and the lack of freshness is noticeable. Love a fresh happy beer!

 

Only like $3 and change at wixom...wish I could have gotten more!

 

I was the first one to buy the beer here, he just got it in 15 minutes before I got there - originally he was gonna give me two and I said I'd drink as much as he'd give me - ended up throwing one more in. With only two cases, I figured it was gonna go fast. Wasn't excited about $2.99 a bottle, but this was my only chance...

I've never been there before, I gave it a quick look over and they seem to be carrying most of what is available in Michigan and their prices looked to be good. Being only 15 minutes from work I'm gonna have to consider this a store worth revisiting

 

A little too far south for me but I really appreciate the info. It's customer service like this that really sets your brewery apart from the rest! Thanks again.

 

Yeah, they were very friendly - even on phone!

 

Very happy I was able to snag a 6 pack. Broke my personal rule of no beers mon-thurs rule so I could have one less than 24 hours old. It's great. Well done Shorts.

 

Oh, man, I gotta join the chorus here. The aroma on this thing is blowing me away, and the taste ain't half bad, either. I'm pretty sure this and Sticky are now my favorite Short's IPAs. Well Frickin Done.

Oh, and my wife expressed her sympathy for all the Short's employees who had to end up hand-wrapping those 3D glasses. Thanks to all the employees who helped make it happen!

 

So where can I get a cat grass t-shirt? Saw a pic of Joe rocking it and I need one for my wardrobe!

 

HaHa. It was "only" $16.99. I picked up a six at around 4:00.

Just wanted to say I love Shorts but I can't understand for the life of me why you decided to skip over the Cleveland market (the premier market in OH and the most mature/established) to sell Cat Grass in places like Dayton and Toledo. Big mistake IMO!

 

I am going to guess this was not Short's decision and more about a distributor for that area not wanting to participate in a release like this.

Unrelated to that. As this probably was already a logistical nightmare. I would have liked the 3d glasses to be a bit more crazy and cat grass themed (I'm a designer, so I know it was probably a good bump in cost of a simple logo imprint vs a full custom print) and also an untappd badge would have been cool "fresher than fresh" or "24 hour club" or "bottled this morning". Just random thoughts.

 

Does anyone know of a bottle shop in Northern Indiana near the IL border that might have this? I am in Chicago and was going to take a drive this weekend if I had a plan and knew it would be around. Thanks a bunch.

 

Same distributor for the entire state. They clarified and said it was their call, but I still think it was a bad move. Lots of people in Cleveland haven't been impressed with the Shorts beers we have gotten so far and I think this could have changed that.
