I checked both out and it looks like its at the Chop House in Grand Rapids. I gues the west side IS the best side *sad trombone*

Do you know if they are selling the BA Bellaire Brown to people outside the dinner event? I know the Ann Arbor one is fully reserved/sold out and the events page made it sound like the BA Bellaire Brown is for the event only and only people at the event will have a chance to buy a bottle.

 

There's still one there. Someone please come and get it so that my store doesn't get blacklisted against getting more great Short's offerings in the future.

 

Per the website, Liberator is coming to shelves this week. Check the link for the Origin of the Liberator, but here's the important stuff:

Michigan only release this time.

 

The Liberator was my gateway beer to all things Short's. And to this day, I still find the beer exceptional. Can't wait.

 

Just got the DIPA variety pack today, tried two so far, the Stache Bender which was solid but Superfluid was absolutely fantastic. Very crisp and drinkable with lots of pine and juniper taste. First time seeing this anyone know if it ever comes in six packs?

 

We were lucky and got it twice this year. In 6 packs in February and in the holiday pack a few weeks ago. I even saw it on tap at a couple places in the metro Detroit area this fall.

Sadly I do not see it on the 2017 release schedule yet. But if it is anything like 2016, then they will be adding many more beers to this list throughout the year and hopefully this one pops up somewhere.

Yeah this year rules !!! BUT WAIT THERES MORE! Like every 2 seconds. My family says why the hell do you brew beer if you have so much shorts beer all the time? Cuz. Duh. Just picked up a 6 of liberator hot off the press. Yeaaaah cant wait to try it again!

 

Any chance of finding the ipa variety pack in Ann Arbor today? I'm in town for Jolly Pumpkin, but really want to get that variety pack too.

 

no. i believe that is the first time any of those beers were used in a variety.

also, how are you going to allocate 4 beers in a 6 pack?

 

sorry, must have misunderstood your question.

 

It's highly unlikely to find any of these in AA or anywhere now in Michigan. But depending on which way you go back to Indiana, you might still find the one that I saw yesterday at the Meijer store on Beckley Road (B Drive) in Battle Creek (just off I-94 at the M-66 exit #99). That's only 10 miles from the I-94/I-69 intersection. (See post 926 above.)

 

Heads up for anybody going to get bottles of Bourbon Bellaire from The Chop House in Ann Arbor... Just had this experience...


I put NO fault on Short's. I've always known them to be nothing short of amazing, and every other event/establishment experience has been top notch. But this really saddens me.
Not who you want to do business with guys...

 

Mike, Is it possible that you and your wife spoke to different people at Chop House?
I highly doubt the person who said no to your wife did it because she is a she.
Never been to Chop house fwiw
