Was finally able to open up a chief hopper tonight, this is delicious. Going to have to grab some more while it's still around.

Lots rumors that our beloved Shorts beer will be distributed in green bottles soon :astonished:

    Can you confirm or deny?

Have to say that Chief Hopper is a damn good beer - finished my first 6 pack and went back out and got a second. I'd put this DIPA behind Superfluid, but ahead of Liberator, Aww Jeah, Stache Bender, and Cat's Pajamas.

Now the Publican Porter, while I don't make it a point to try all porters I can get my hands on, I must say that this may be the best of the style I've had - definitely a top tier porter based on my experience/exposure to the style

Looks like Short's has issued a statement regarding the rumors:
    http://www.mlive.com/beer/2017/03/shorts_brewing_responds_after.html

"We've had conversations about the benefit of a possible future partnership that would not involve loss of control or enough shares to get near the Brewer's Association craft definition. But we don't have anything to report at this time."

Most likely, the "...at this time" portion of the quote is only going to fuel future speculation.

Goodnight Bodacious release news, from the website:

"It’s not often we release a beer as dark and commanding as the brew within this bottle, such unabashed power and absolute darkness is hard to come by. Inspired by an infallible bull, this Double Black India Pale Ale is bucking back to bottles and taps this week. Can your tastebuds tame Goodnight Bodacious?

Goodnight Bodacious (10.6% ABV – 100 IBU) is a Double Black India Pale Ale with the maltiness of a Barleywine and the hoppiness of an IPA. A rich, hoppiness dominates the aroma, with earthy and loamy scents. A medium body presents big, bitter black barley and roasted coffee flavors, with subtle complements of dark fruit and green hops. Strong alcohol flavors and pleasant warming qualities become more noticeable as the beer approaches room temperature."

Also, per the website, this one is going to be Michigan Only.

That's quite a compliment to the Chief, but let's not get carried away. SuperFluid has a unique flavor you won't find in another Short's IPA, including this one. It's an easy drinking DIPA, light on the Ibu's and malt, no heavy bite or lingering hops, and still clocking in at 9.2%.

Not only will you not find such a unique flavor as Superfluid in another Shorts IPA, I challenge anyone to find the Superfluid flavor profile in another IPA (DIPA) anywhere else in our 50 states - nothing tastes just like Superfluid.

This said, Chief Hopper does have similarities to Superfluid. It's not tropical, juicy, etc. and also isn't a piney, resinous, West Coast IPA. Bought 2 six packs so far and probably gonna pick up at least one more - to conclude, while not Superfluid, I'm really diggin' Chief Hopper!!

Picked up a six pack today - loving this beer as always! A big 'ol black DIPA that, in my preference, drank closer to room temperature has a nice hop bite and complexity that defines what a Black DIPA should be.

Totally agree. I was hoping for Superfluid to watch the tournament but I think Chief Hopper will do!

March has been, before this year, Superfluid month. I am missing it and agree that Chief Hopper will do. This being said, I have already pleaded with Shorts to "surprise" us with a Superfluid release sometime this year. Send a message to the sales staff equivalent to mine - power in #'s!!!

Just when I really start digging Shorts' hops, you guys start killing me with all these Michigan-only releases! Sheesh! Actually, I would've been all over Publican Porter too.

Being that Ohio just began receiving Shorts last summer, we haven't been lucky enough to get Superfluid 6 packs yet, but I have gotten to try it from the mix 12 pack of DIPAs from around Christmas time. I agree with everything that everyone has said; it's an amazing beer, and yes, really unique too. Hopefully, they'll put it out (in full distribution!) later this year.

Nah, Superfluid should be 2 big drops a year, Spring and Fall. That's it.

Come up and visit the Mitten! There's no shortage (rim shot) of brewpubs and bars that have tap-only exclusives. Plus, you get to escape Ohio for bit

And I get the Superfluid love, but I've got one bottle of Cat's Pajamas left and I'm tentative to drink it because I don't want it to be gone. Takes me back to the Sticky launch, where it blew away my expectations.
