Short's Brewing Releases & Updates (2018)

I could absolutely obliterate mass amounts of Rosie Palmer in the summer. Never been a big shandy fan, and i've been off and on with shorts in general, but that one just clicked for me.

 

Rosie Palmer is awesome, the Earl Gray and Rose Hips elevate it above any shandy out there. A crowler of Rosie, a crowler of It's About Thyme, and a sandy beach on Traverse Bay would be goddam perfect.

 

This batch of '78 is fantastic! Best batch yet! Short's second best hoppy beer after Superfluid.

 

How is Slurm compared to Laughing Grass?

 

Well neither beer has been released yet...

 

Grabbed the latest sampler pack tonight, controversiale tasting great like usual, captain fantasy is so much better than I remember! Hope that one makes a return in 6 packs next year.

Part of me thinks laughing grass may just be rebranded slurm for the Hopcat 4/20 parties only. I very well could be wrong though.

 

That is what I thought initially but the ABVs are quite different. I think I saw Laughing grass at 5.8% and Slurm at 7+ I am guessing LG wont be much of an authentic NE IPA but Slurm could have a chance. Either way Shorts consistently knocks it out of the park with IPAs, vastly underrated brewery in that respect. I suppose their beer isn't readily available to most people tho.

Anyone going tomorrow to check out Laughing Grass? I might try to stop by Hopcat after work and see if any is left. Is there a schedule for the tapping that anyone knows of?

Oh btw im planning my vacation time in advance ... and looking to figure which weekend is the party in august in elk rapids for shorts fest ? Usually its the fireworks/last day of harbor days in elk rapids... same this yr for 2017? What say you @HopHeadHerman ! ?

 

Any new low abv cans for the summer? Prolonged 12 packs would make my summer!

Try it first. I just wouldn't label it as a "NEIPA" but to be honest I hate that label for to begin with.

I'll say this. It's a typical Shorts IPA.

 

Laughing Grass is a session IPA, nothing more. Solid for sure, but I wouldn't label it anything else.

 

Had a friend that invited me so went anyway. lets just say I only had one. it was fine...if it was canned and in a 30 pack for the summer. outside that wasn't super impressed. switched to huma afterwards.
