Short's Epic 10th Anniversary bash

    With all this DL talk, thought I'd see who is planning on attending this beast of an event. Wife and I had our room booked for a couple months and am seriously geeked for everything this has going.

    So... who else is in?

    SHORT’S EPIC 10TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY!
    04/26/2014 3pm-12am

    Short’s is turning 10 years old! We are so excited that we decided to throw a really big party. On April 26th you will find us dancing in the streets of Bellaire, Michigan (yes we are closing down the streets) and we want you there.

    Get ready for 90+ beers on tap! A variety of food will be available in the pub and on the street. Joe Short will also give his annual State of the Brewery address. Live music performed throughout the day by: Dean Ween and the Brown Outs, The Ragbirds, Breathe Owl Breathe, Steppin’ In It, and Don Julin and Billy Strings.

    Stache Bender, Anniversary Ale, and beer/food token pre-sales will run from 12 pm-2 pm.

    Admission to this event is free. However, by decree of “The Man”, event capacity is restricted to 4,000 shiny happy people at one time. So, be sure to arrive early to ensure that you’ll be able spend your time partying rather than watching a party in line.

    This shindig starts at 3 pm and ends at midnight. After 8pm the event will be 21 and over only. Everyone under 21 will be asked to leave at that time.

    I am going. Plan on getting there when it opens at 3 or a little after. Not getting bottles, and they said capacity is 4000, so I am thinking it wont be a problem. I think I read the capacity thing on their website, but I cant recall.

    Hope the weather is ok that weekend. Sounds like this is the first time they will be hosting things outside as well as inside. Kinda risky weather-wise in unpredictable northern MI.

    As long as it's warm! Rain can be dealt with to a certain degree. lol I'm sure they'll have a bunch of circus tents.

    Here's hoping. I remember like 3 or 4 years ago it was 80 degrees and sunny. That was awesome, but definitely not the norm for that time of year.

    Past two years have been warm and sunny, hopefully this year is as well.

    Will be there once again with many people in tow along with my wife (to carry out the cases of beer). Hmmm who has that pic from 2012?!?

    my wife and i are going and staying at shanty creek. the kind people of short's got us a family & friends discount. we are going to get some bottles early on and just enjoy ourselves. it's our first time there. so if you happen to see me, please say hi. maybe i'll even buy you a beer!

    The entire outside setup will be tented. I'll be getting bottles and bringing my wife aka mule to help me buy and carry it all out as well.

    The wife and I plus another couple will be there! Got a place to stay for a couple days before, during and after.
    Love the Bellaire area.
    Been going to Short's since Leah was our bartender but this will be our first anniversary party.

    BTW, I just made a quick call to Shorts about a couple things:

    -Parking is anywhere you can find it except behind the brewery. I suspect the courthouse parking lot that is right around the corner will be fair game, and there is a small parking lot on the north side of town across from the movie theater.

    -Sales of the tokens and beers will be outside from 12-2 as noted, and they will accept credit cards.

    -Growlers can be filled, but only inside.

    As with all things, we're a month away so all of that is prone to change/adjustment, so don't bet your life on any of it, but I hope it's a good guideline.

    My issue is finding a hotel close. It looks like it will have to be TC. Anyone know of a closer hotel? Id rather not drive 30 miles back to TC
