@HopHeadHerman , any word on Empress Catherine yet? Sounds amazing.... Need to know when I should start bugging my local store owners about it

Shorts does tons of hoppy & light beers, & plenty of great ones at that (Hopstache, Freedom, DPS, MMMKay, etc.)... the caveat is that I really think some people overlook their "dark" beers.... Cup-A-Joe, Mystery Stout, Black Diamond, Publican Porter, Goodnight Bodacious, etc... All amazing beers.

Goodnight Bodacious was never overlooked. That was a very popular 2013 beer and I for one am getting as much as possible when it hits next month.

Empress Catherine was early Jan., no? It's on draft here in GR so if still on schedule I'd expect bottles this week or next.

There was an issue with our filler during Empress Catherine, so we had to switch around that and Publican Porter. Publican gets bottled today, with Empress following next on the schedule.

I know this is off topic but @HopHeadHerman the shorts brew podcast was quite good and cool to learn the story behind soft parade name.

Yeap, big fan of Holiday. How much hopslam was there? I'm all set for it, but a buddy wanted another six.

Pairing Howlin' Chinaski with some pizza, good match.

    Solid brew!

Very solid offering of a style I usually don't drink. I like the balance of the toasty black malt and the sweetness of the honey. Not mind blowing but very solid for a black ale.

Another not my go to style. It has a light amber taste with a slight bitter taste at the end. This is very drinkable and I really like the nose on this one.

My favorite so far. Very nice chocolate roastyness. I believe I had this on tap before. These last two packs do show that Short's can make very tasty black lagers/ales (Black Diamond and Honey Badger).
