Amen to that. Came here to say Boy King. Picked up a couple of growlers Thursday then killed them on a golf weekend with the boys while playing poker. I love that beer.
I hate it that I don't really like HopArt, but I love everything else they make. Rye Knot Brown kicks ass.

I got a couple of the Bitter Valentine in a trade and they were great. I have to say that NG Thumbprint IIPA was a favorite. Got a couple in a NG box trade. So good I made another trade for a couple more 4 packs.

To be honest.. I've had it, and can get it, but as I'm not "full time" living there.. I really think Nantahala's Noon Day IPA is something to seek out. I'm up there a bunch in the summer and some in the fall, but past that I'm not headed to NC in the winter.

But they don't bottle, save for some special brewery only releases.. And they don't distribute unless it's growlers and it's only in the immediate area.. I love their IPA, and will go there every Sat. that I'm up there!

All local for me, & I see that you get no founders/bells out there!

Bells Expedition - Age it, trust me, and thank me later.
Bells Oracle & Hopslam - Delicious DIPAs in their own rights
Bells Oarsman Ale - pretty solid berliner weisse
Founders Imperial Stout - One of the best imo.
    Founders BK Stout - delicious
Founders CBS - just kidding, you'll never get this
    DarkHorse - Double Crooked Tree
    DarkHorse - Pleadthe5th
Livery - any sour you can get your hands on
    Greenbush - Anger, Mr.Hyde
    Vivant - Zaison, Escoffier

That's just a start of the Michigan goodness.

I should probably make my way to the city and pick up some Pipe Works. Never had anything from them, but I've heard good things about 'em.

Thanks, I have had a smattering of bells and founders and have enjoyed all of it, but I will add expedition to the list as I haven't had that one yet.

I have actually had CBS, I think I got it after the initial rush of popularity and before the current resurgence, but silly me, I actually drank my bottle (probably the favorite of the night)

Awesome! I think the NG IIPA might be one of the greatest IIPAs that not many have tried. It's a great, great well balanced delicious IIPA. It would be a staple in my fridge if I could get it.

+1 to this: a great beer that proves that a stout doesn't need to be barrel aged to be incredibly delicious.

From Illinois I'd add Pipeworks' Ninja Vs. Unicorn, an excellent DIPA. I'd also second the Half Acre suggestion and show some love for Metropolitan's lagers which are outstanding.

Destihl makes an amazing rye wine, but they don't bottle. And I hear One Trick Pony, another draft-only outfit that I have yet to try, is doing great work.

Id recommend Redbud cuvee four. Coop aleworks oak aged barley wine. Rahr and sons bourbon barrel aged winter warmer.

Have you had their Rye Wine with a barrel treatment? So smooth and stunning! Get at least a growler fill of the regular everytime it's on tap. They do a good job at hiding the 13% ABV.
