    I votes yes and garage. You need missiles not guns and USA has nothing to do with a German yeast strain.

    Make a 2.5 gallon batch of starter wort this weekend and pitch your 2L starter into that. Ferment it out at ale temps, cold crash it and harvest the yeast into a graduated jar. Ditch the spent starter wort. Brew the lager next weekend.

    Is it your choice but if you pitch your 2 liter starter at a warmer temperature that will yield faster yeast growth during the initial stage of fermentation. If you choose to go that route you need to get your fermentation down to lager fermentation temperatures (e.g., the 50's) relatively soon (e.g., starting after 24 or so hours).
