    This is my first attempt at brewing and I racked to my secondary last Thursday and I am still getting bubbles in my airlock about every 90 seconds. My specific gravity is at about 1.010 to 1.009 and I took a taste and it tasted OK. A brewing acquaintance said to go ahead and bottle but I am afraid of exploding bottles. He said that since I dry hopped some of the bubbles were just the CO2 coming of the bits of floating hops. I trust him, but I don't want a mess on my hands. Thoughts?

    Go ahead and bottle, sounds like you won't wait for them to fully carb before drinking them anyway.

    Have you had two successive gravitometer readings that were the same? That should answer your question.

    Take another reading with the hydrometer. If it has not changed, wait another week (if you can) for the yeast to continue cleaning up, then bottle. The hardest part early on for me was being patient. It has rewards.

    Your friend is right about CO2 coming out of solution. It could be from the nucleation sites of the dry hopping or it could still be fermenting. Use your hydrometer. Airlock movement is not quantitative measurement of completion.

    You or your friend should to take another hydrometer reading in two or three days.

    like VikeMan said take another reading in 3 days if it hasn't changed, bottle

    I checked the SG today and it had dropped further to 1.007
