We've had a freak hot spell here in PA with temps in the 80's this week so I started wondering if time spent in a hot UPS of FedEx van will adversely affect beer that we ship out to trade partners during warm weather. Any thoughts?

It's not great for the beer, but that's part of the risks you take shipping beer. I know I usually check the 10 day forecasts. I also prefer to ship in the spring/fall.

That being said, keep in mind it had to be shipped to your local store, more often than not. Don't over think it.

Yes, high temperatures can cause off flavors in beer, though I think it takes a little while. But I assume that your trading partner is aware of this risk.

Now I know how you East Coasters feel when us SoCal folks complain about 50's being cold temps. 80 being a heat spell? HA! That's like a Tuesday for us.

    It should be fine.

80's should be fine. 90's I'd start to worry.
