I love you Texans but being from Arizona it seems like you are monopolizing this regional forum. This begs me to ask the question, is Texas (and Oklahoma for that matter) really considered the Southwest? It would be nice to here from my Arizona and New Mexico brethren occasionally without having to search through 50 post about Texas, no offense really!

Yes, I agree. Not cause I live in Texas, but it seems the majority of people posting in the Southwest forum are Texans, or Okies. They should rearrange Southwest to AZ, NM, and NV.

I'v never head of TX being "Southwest" till I came to this forum. TX should be in the "South" forum IMO.

Oklahoma can come too, no offense AZ/NM. Call it the "Third Coast" forum.

Yes. Not that it really matters, but yes. Maybe then it will be acceptable to have individual threads on specific topics(beers)

I think if we split it up the new southwest forum would have about 5 threads in it. I don't feel like it is so much that Texas dominates the forum, it's just that there are rarely posts from any other state (besides OK)

Of the 30 threads on the first page right now... 27 are Texas related... 2 are OK related... 1 is Arizona related. New Mexico: doesn't even lift.

Culturally, east Texas has roots similar to the deep south.. .Houston, Central Texas and DFW though are their own thing.... West Texas certainly belongs in the southwest region of the USA..

as far as this forum... Texans aren't trying to dominate it.. we just are dominating it... there are a lot of us here.

    'cuz Texas.

    Serious Question:

Why do we NOT have Metro Specific Threads? Houston Thread, Austin Thread, Dallas Thread, San Antonio Thread, etc.

It just makes way too much sense to me, Along with having "City, State" for our Location information.

Are there other BA regional forums dominated by one particular state?

California pretty much owns the Pacific forum. They're only in there with Hawaii though.

Side note, I don't know if anyone is keeping track of total post per regional forum. Of course I'm not, but we have been gaining ground on the pacific forum. Only like 3000 posts behind.

Yeah that's great, I thought I was going to get some help here, at least you Texans are on board. The Southwest forum will really quiet when it's just me representing Arizona.

This has been discussed in other requests to breakdown the forum further.

We currently have no plans of creating subforums based on US state or major city.
