I say leave it off. People that want to give advice can easily do that through a DM. This prevents embarrassment to a noob poster and people trying to make comments just to help them get what they want. Too many people make comments just to sway value for their own personal gain.

No- I like the new culture I've found BA has turned to post-trade forum comments. If you bring trade post comments back, then you invite the trololololls back, as that was the only thing that really kept them here to begin with.

Also, bringing back comments I think will lead to overhyping of beers/whale competitions/etc that was endemic during the height of trade forum comments.

Too much bickering, too much "I don't value that beer as much as you do so I'm going to trash your trade post", and all other manner of dumbf**kery that I'm glad to see is for the most part gone from this site. Don't ruin the peace ✌ with trade forum comments please.

Facebook trading is so obnoxious.. people don't threadshit looking for attention if no one else sees what they post. I say keep it how it is.

Yes, Yes, Yes! For all the great reasons already stated. And, because it is just a much better experience.

It keeps people honest. People really started swinging for the fences with their ISOs once the peanut gallery was muzzled.

Yes I believe the community should be allowed to police itself. As long as the comments are not malicious I don't see anything wrong with someone receiving negative feedback on their proposals.

All things considered, I say yes. One thing that would help me is to be able to reply just to seek information on the ever-changing/evolving acronyms and abbreviations for every new "hot" beer. I don't trade that often, and when I decide to try, I nearly always have to ask "stupid" questions. And I don't like doing that in a PM.

100% should bring it back. It helps to regulate trades that are way off of value.

A strong yes for me. When I originally stumbled onto the trade forums a few years back, I was surprised by how much I learned about release details and availability of new and exciting beers. And this was all from the comments. In an ideal world, people would also post this availability information in the regional forums, or while reviewing a beer, but this simply doesn't happen, at least not for the majority of awesome new beers.

After the comments were disabled, I found myself spending significantly less time on the trade boards and significantly less time on BA, as I turned to other resources for this information. Please bring the comments back!

Not sure if possible, but maybe make it a check box option for the OP. This way, people who want the open feedback, can get it, while the people who want to list an ISO without any input still can.

No, that's what I like about this site. Avoid the potential trouble makers and trolls of the site.

Can there be a button that allows for comments if the poster wants them?
I already see people in this thread above applying for an application in the beer police department.

No. Way to much bickering, trolling, jockeying to influence others into thinking what certain beers are "worth". I can't even count how many times I saw someone post a reasonable trade, only to be flooded with responses of "that trade is ridiculous, beer x isn't worth beer y"; then the trade happened. A large portion of the replies in the ISO:FT forum were solely for the purposes of trying to manipulate value of whatever beer the responded had or I'm fairly certain if that.

Replies to the ISO:FT forum were probably the worst part of the BA community, let them lie, no reason to bring that garbage back.

    Yes, bring it back.

The benefits outweigh the few bad apples. Really acts as a barometer for measuring trade posts for what's the going fair market.
