I've had the base oatmeal stout, and yes it has a fairly light body. That being said, you don't necessarily have to reach for a higher gravity stout to find one with a pretty full body.

Yeah, you are right. $5 a bomber is not bad if the beer is great (i.e. Steel Toe). I think Flat Earth would be more appropriately priced at $3 a bomber.

BINGO. rarely do I even look at them when I can get 3x the Surly for 2x the price.

I prefer bombers priced at $1.99. It's too bad Craft Bombers don't hit 1990 price-points until they are past-code :sunglasses:

Agree! Trader Joes has their 25th anniversary Brown ale for 1.99, actually quite good. Brewed by Firestone if i recall.

They also had an IPA and brown in bombers for 1.99, but they were contracted through Minhas, so even at that price, i passed.

I've only ever seen the Mission St Anniversary Ale for $2.99, is it on sale right now or something? I'll buy a few cases at $1.99

Ahh, I misread, the brown ale is $2.29 at my TJ's, I had confused that with the anniversary ale which is a buck more and well worth it.

$5 a bomber is ~$15 a six. It needs to be way above average to be at that price point IMO. At $3 it would put it in line with a lot of sixer's and would easier to justify buying.

Overall bomber prices just suck compared to six packs. I get it for special releases. I don't get it for everyday stuff like most of flat earth's offerings.

Yeah I pick up a flat earth bomber once in a while, they are good, but expensive for everyday drinking.
