Side Project (2018)

Schlafly isn't in the same league as SP let alone the same ballpark. That's just my opinion.

 

Both breweries have great beers - but I’d agree 100% that they are in a different “league” from the standpoint they don’t strive to be the same type of brewery and that SP is obviously superior at sours.

It’s comparing apples and oranges to me.

 

Schlafly has some great beers, and I think they've capitalized on the "small release" format quite well. In honor of the Insider, I'll have to crack The Variant on Sunday.

 

Is the Punchdown Pinot Noir still available to-go at the brewery? I have a friend visiting St. Louis.

 

brewery will not be open again until saturday, but as of yesterday the cellar still had bottles to-go.

I accidentally got to the brewery at 8:00 p.m. (well after close, shame on me for not checking hours) on D9 release Saturday. There was an 80% full open bottle of D9 sitting next to the building.

 

It was still there on Sunday. Someone poured as a troll, then someone else actually sampled.

 

well, did you dome it or what???

 

It was actually full of chew spit and left for whatever unsuspecting victim took a pour

D11 - A.K.A. Country Bumpkin

 

General question for SP regular-ish folks. I'm gonna be down there over labor day visiting my sister with my wife and 2 kids. Plan on going there - and trying to figure out some other things for the long weekend, including a Cardinals/Reds game. Is it kid-friendly? I've been but it's been a while and can't remember. I assume if there was a decent release on Saturday it wouldn't be the greatest time, but not sure about other times in a typical weekend. Trying to decide if just me, my sister and her husband go some time when maybe the youngest one naps, or if we all go.

And if there is a release that will sell out pretty quick, I'll change all plans and go myself Saturday AM

 

I’m by no means local or a regular but when I visited earlier this spring I had my two kids (9 and 7 years old) with me and it was perfectly fine. This was on the weekend of Stout Week and while it was busy, not overwhelming at all.

anyone know what last year’s Zwanze Day “surprise” to-go release was? any other years are appreciated too.

 

It’s been that year’s Tete both years. Since it’s extremely unlikely Tete 16 will be ready by then I assume something else this year.

 

Whatever it is, it will be good...haha

 

FdF would be my guess. i’ve wanted to go to this event for 3 years now including this year and i always have something else going on. cousin is getting married that day. shit.

 

Is this festival more specific to a few styles of beers or is it all over the board? I've never been but for $110 a ticket it seems a little steep especially if people don't care for the styles of beer that's going to be there.
