They'll have numerous styles. I'm partial, but it's the best beer event I've been to. They purposely keep it small with all you can drink tickets so the crowd is manageable. Last year, there wasn't even a line for Blue Label Maman at one point because there are just so many ridiculous choices. You may miss a pour of something here and there, but there's always another great beer a few feet away. I've heard stories of other Zwanze events being nuts, but SP's is well run and loaded with great beer. I can't imagine anyone who loves beer walking away feeling like they didn't get their money's worth.

 

I assume that there's no ability for a DD to enter without consuming? I'd love to go, but no way I'll drag my wife to this event and ask her to come pick me up when I'm ready. Also, she won't enjoy it enough for it to be worth the ask, nor do we have the disposable income to buy 2 tickets.

I wonder how many tickets are going to the public since super secret club members got a ticket automatically if they wanted it.

 

Damn I didn't know that happened. I figured for a special event like this they'd have to make an effort to get a ticket like the rest of us peasants

 

Don’t worry, there’s a few club members that agree that they shouldn’t automatically get one.

 

@Beer_Economicus you'd be better off getting tickets closer to home.

 

If La Coterie gets first dibs, what is that, a majority of the tickets?

 

Yea, that's what I figure.

When these type of events come up, I sometimes check into them because we travel locally quite reasonably often. We haven't gone to St Louis for various trips very often (maybe 3 times?), and so I look into events like this as just 1 or several things we could do over weekend.

@Beer_Economicus you should consider Midwest Belgian Beer Fest next year, it's always a good event and tickets easier to acquire. This year they opened it up to all beer styles.
Its the kickoff to STL beer week as well.

 

Greatly appreciate the heads up. I'll put that on the list of to-dos tomorrow (to look up). Always been interested into attending (both that and STL beer week), but it hasn't work out in the past or I just found out too late. Maybe this year will be different =).

 

MWBBF is on the last Saturday of July, lots of time to plan for next year!

Probably. I’m curious to have it again since it was my least favorite on fermier day, but so many peole said it was their fave. Maybe we got an off bottle?

 

Peche was my favorite. Framboise was my least favorite. Pretty disappointed. But that is what I love about the subjective nature of flavors.
