It seems like a herd mentality on the St Louis facebook groups. Someone posts a bottle and everyone else has to follow. I remember 2015 Rare was like that maybe 6-8 months ago. All of a sudden, half the trades are for the same bottle.

It happens on the trade forums here on BA. It's the power of suggestion and reminding people they have the same bottle for trade.

I joked with a friend last year before the first JO Appervation release that someone should post a ISO or FT, because as soon as that has happened the flood gates will open, and an anchor will have been established for "price."

This is just what happened. Someone in MN offered a CW Maple 1:1. As soon as that happened, others began seeking their App FT at that rate, and other began more ISO at rates lower than CW maple:

It’s only been 2 FdFs that popped up, and one is from somebody that probably has a case.

Is it weird they’re at the same time? Yeah, but it’s only two. It’s not a trend.

    I was thinking D10 wouldn’t suck.

This is kind of a weird question, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. A friend of mine heads out to the Boeing facility there about every other month now and almost always heads over to the Cellar. Are there any anniversary type releases that they do on set dates (ie Bourbon County Black Friday etc) that I should tell him to look out for? Not that he has a lot of say in when he goes but wanted to give him a heads up as he always comes back with bottles.

    Thanks again.
Also feel free to pm if anyone from Boeing wants to reach out.

BBT should be Black Friday but that’s the only “set” release they have

Ok that's what I figured. It's pretty much been a mixed bag (of all great stuff) every time he's been there.

I wouldn't even get my hopes up by thinking a Derivation might be the Zwanze bottle, but FdF b2 is a possibility....

And as an extra way to keep hopes in check around that - the Zwanze blog post refers to it as a $35 beer, BBT & D6 were $40, and looks like D8 was $50.

It might be a fundraising/auction bottle. Boy would that raise a lot of money...

Nice onsite vintage lineup for this weekend (minus AB Derivation).

Anyone surprised they haven’t released more Zwanze info being that we are 7 days out?

Nah, almost all the info was in their first post. They usually post any final bits around 2 days before the event.

I'll be a first timer at SP's Zwanse day this year. Any general tips? I don't feel the need to try whales or be first in line for anything, but those that have gone before still suggest getting there at 11:30 or is getting there around noon or 12:30 probably better and less waiting in line to get in? Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

My first time as well but have talked with some folks who have been before. Very few tickets to this event purposefully so won’t be a big crowd. Was told there really wasn’t much of a wait regardless of when you got there from 11:30-12:00. There was a 15-20 person line for the whales but many awesome beers, including the Cantillon stuff had basically zero line all day last year.

Hope all of the above holds true for this year as well. Looks like temps will be nice also.
