Anyways, anyone want to share during BBT release weekend?

Flying in from Cali with Mexican Medianoche, 18mo and Coconut and looking to try a Maman if someone wants to open one with me and the Medianoches. Maman is one of my personal whalez and it would be killer to drink one while in town.

 

Not sure how my schedule will shape up, but I could probably open a maman

saw that. was it a big turnout or just very limited blend?

 

Talked to @coryking today and he said bottle count was slightly lower due to the fact that the beer spent more time in the barrel so yield was less. They did less draft to try and offset some of this to keep bottle counts fairly similiar.

thanks! i was going to say that if anything it would be equal bottle count to blend 1, but i get the logic behind more barrel time yielding less for this batch. cheers!

 

Were you asking about Floue Floue or BBT? Floue Floue was definitely a smaller batch- would guess about 250 people went through before it sold out?

 

Dusty & i had been talking about both beers actually so kind of confusing. earlier we were talking BBT batch size and then floue crowd / batch size.

 

I had my Twitter notifications set to text me, so I was out running errands with the wife, and refused to drive in case it happened on the road. It did, and I got one.

 

Will people be lining up at The Cellar prior to opening (at 1PM) for the BBT release (to ensure getting a table or a spot at the bar)? Never been to a Side Project release so wondering what to expect.

 

Yes, there will most likely be a line, but should be reasonable unless there is a silent release like last year.

 

And given how those lines went last year (Saturday in particular was crazy and took forever to clear) I really doubt they’ll do a surprise silent release again
