I’m guessing silent, double special release. Anabasis and Derivation the Ocho. BBT isn’t enough.

 

Because I'm driving from 6 hours out and might be turning around and heading back home, I'll be there early enough to get home at a reasonable hour.

 

@eppie82 Its nothing like the shitshow we know as “home” (Chicago). I showed up at 9ish on Saturday and was 80th in line. I believe by Saturday people knew that BA CSV was a possibility to be released because it was released on Friday to the first ~200. I think that’s what drove the long line. I think by the time they opened at 11-12 there may have been ~200 people in line. The weather was really mild, maybe hot as I remember last year so half the crowd was able to hang out outside which made it comfortable inside. Like I’ve mentioned before, SP (STL) releases are tame in comparison to anything around us. I feel like More fruited cans releases are crazier than any STL release I’ve been to.

Anything is possible but I hope it’s a similar vibe like last year. Hope this helps! If you’re around on Saturday hit me up so we can share a brew! Cheers!

 

I don’t mind missing out but I thought the system where you got a bottle to checkout without it truly being in your cart (on a time-Out system) was frustrating. I entered my CC and then was told it was sold out.

Very excited for this BBT release. It's been a couple of years since I've been to St.Louis, and beyond the beer I'm just as much looking forward to some of that Pappy's BBQ.... although I still haven't been to Bogart's either so maybe I'll try that this time.

I can understand that being frustrating, but I don't know if it matters. If the system only allowed the allotted number of bottles to be placed in a cart, how would you know if you would've made the cut? Not you specifically, but anyone who had it I the cart and didn't close in time. It seems like people are upset that they "thought" they had a bottle secured, but didn't. In the grand scheme of things, it's was still whoever clicked/typed fastest.

 

if anyone that went to the cellar anniversary events last year during the week could chime in here it would be much appreciated.

Honestly, you never know. It's certainly possible it could be gone. I'd check Untappd to see if people are still checking them in up until I left if I were you.

 

Two types of BBT are on at 4 pm and could potentially tap out in two hours on a weekday? That'd suck beyond comprehension. That would have to be like a "show" tapping.

 

If I lived and/or worked in STL, I’d make myself puke at my desk around 2.....so, it’s possible.

 

It absolutely "could" happen. Sometimes when special things are tapped at the Cellar, there are enough people that they have to allow one person in for every one that leaves. It will likely be crazy from 3pm until they run out.

 

So, the event starts at 4 pm per their anniversary post...do you think they'll "open up" tappings before then? Anabasis on Thursday is supposedly tapped at 6 pm. I just assumed the stated time is when the kegs would get going. Thanks.

 

If they stated a time for the tapping, that's exactly when it will be available

 

Yeah - that was my assumption, but the question was directly related to your statement of crazy from 3 pm until they run out. I guess people will filter in before the tapping to ensure a spot. Thanks, man.

 

Sorry...to answer your question, yes, I'd expect people to be there at open to get a seat. I wish I could make it myself, but I can only come one day this week!
