I'm an elderly person who's had arthritis for 3+ decades & is allergic to NSAIDS. I like the comfort of a chair & protection from the weather. Additionally, there are people I enjoy seeing & catching up with at these releases. SP tastings are awesome, but as those who know me will attest, I drink very, very little while there. Common sense & driving from Iowa dictates that.

Fifteen minutes late works for some while several hours early is preferred by others. To each his (or her) own. I don't get, REALLY don't get, those who feel compelled to claim their own preferences should be universally adopted.

No Kriek as far as I know.

There was no Kriek, and apparently it may never get released. Most of it was dumped and being used for Pulling Nails 5.

It was. Not sure what happened but he either only bottled some of it, or bottled all of it to let it bottle condition, opened some and decided he wasn't happy. I'm sure there's still a few bottles, but that's the word spreading from yesterday.

No way. I asked this a month ago and got the smart ass reply of "it will be ready when it's ready".

Can confirm. Our group also asked about Kriek and was told it was too funky to be Kriek Du Fermier. So it will be used in the blend for Pulling Nails B5.

I never set out to say my way was best. Only to say there is no reason to camp infront of business/apartment buildings at 5 or 6am. There's not. Perennial used to activlly fight against it. Also not sure what your age, driving distance, medical conditions, decision to drink or not have to do with anything.

@jlsims04 No, you essentially said that your way is the only reasonable way. Apparently, what works well for you should be good enough for everyone.

My age, driving distance & arthritis have a lot to do with why I arrive early to ensure I'm comfortably seated out of inclement weather. Others might have other reasons, which they can best determine, not me, not you.

I mentioned how little I drink because it's been posted as though people arrive early so they can drink heavily from 5:00 am on. Ftr, people are sharing more coffee, donuts & sausage biscuits than beer in those early hours.

Why does anyone care if people show up early? As noted previously, everyone gets beer. At recent releases Corey has also made it clear he's fine with people lining up early provided they're not disruptive.

I love the SP releases & just wish I could make all of them

On a sad note, is it definite that the Kriek was, or will be, dumped? Rookie question, if it's that flawed, how is it suitable for PN b5? Or is it just off for the style but otherwise delicious?

Yes, it's getting used for PN5. Cory confirmed it in StL Beer Enthusiasts. He said he loved it, but it was more a lambic than a fermier.

@Multipass82 thanks. That answers my questions about using unreleased Kriek in PN b5.

Ill agree to disagree on the begining. As for Kriek based on what Cory said it is not suitable for the Fermier style but still a delicious beer.

I wonder if that means we will see PN#5 earlier than next summer.

There was only 7 months between blend 2 (nov 2014) and blend 3 (jun 2015) so you never know

I cant comment on how much was sold yesterday but I would think so. Its 2go only so that would cut down on bottles slightly as none is getting drank there yet.

Yes, it is still available to go. Based on how many boxes I saw left it might make it to tomorrow.
