Can’t go wrong with either. Both usually offer the same Side Project/Shared stuff, with the cellar offering more stuff from other breweries. The Cellar has an online menu of all their stuff (beer, whiskey, bourbon, wine) that they keep updated, while the brewery will post on their twitter what their menu will be for the weekend usually on Saturday. I’d suggest taking a look at the menus and go from there. I find the Cellar to be a more intimate low key place if that’s more your thing, but barring any release this weekend both are pretty low key. They’re extremely close (walking distance) to one another so you could definitely hit up both.

It’s largely the same stuff available and the cellar’s around the block from the brewery so take your pick.

I prefer the taproom but that's mostly because I'm used to it and have the best memories there. It's really easy to scope out both and take your pick.

Your schedule seems pretty packed, but if you want to hit a few other places I'd keep an eye on Modern, Heavy Riff and Civil Life. They're not the big names but they all have some damn good stuff.

For buying beer to go, it's worth it to hit up the tap room if you can.

That 9% sales tax on bottles makes a big difference if you're buying a few bottles. There's no tax on to-go bottles at the tap room, but there is tax at the Cellar.

    Another for white rooster.
And why not visit both? The SP brewery is cool and there’s something about no tax on to-go sales, but the cellar has a much longer draught and bottle list, and two cask engines.

Or as SP tacitly concurred in calling it, Coffee Derivation...

Nothing for sure, but possibly thanksgiving weekend? Of course this is speculation on my part

Oh, and since nobody mentioned it, Reflections was released to go this past weekend.

Will be spending some time at the brewery and/or cellar Friday and Saturday if anyone wants to share some bottles this weekend!

So I guess my wife picked a great weekend for us to visit her friends in Stl. I'll be making my first visit to SP the weekend of the 11th. Already excited to try 4 Candles but is there anything else to expect during the anniversary week besides the other tapping's mentioned (bottle release, cellared onsite bottles)?

There could certainly be surprises throughout the week! They've been known to be generous during these types of circumstances. There might not be much notice if there's any at all though

Sounds good, I'll probably be there Friday and Saturday. Anything crazy beyond 4 Candles and Fuzzy b1 will just be gravy.

They are going to great lengths to disguise Derivation and keep the hoards at a minimum. At this rate they'll probably never release another to-go beer with a Derivation label on it.

So, am not sure if they have ever done a release on a Friday...I'm curious if anyone has any idea what time that might start?

The release date says 11/24. Didn't they mention a special release dropping on Black Friday awhile back?
