Cory mentioned at Stout Week that the silent barrel program will be a long term project. They are spaced out like this because it takes a considerable amount of effort to coordinate. Along with that the costs are higher due to having the line set up specifically for a small release, unique labels, and unique wax. I know those things aren't necessarily unique but it's a lot of effort for a low bottle count.

I’ve been having a side project weekend, had For LC and D18 last night. Tonight it’s 10+10 and D grand cru.
I’ve come to the conclusion that Amburana just doesn’t agree with me. I love cinnamon too, but this has a hard to describe flavor, the best description is like potpourri. Atleast some people love it, I was hoping I’d be one of those people.

I also had HA db benthic 2x4 too which knocked my socks off, get yourself a can!

I have a DB 2x4 benthic in the mail so this is music to my ears. How was the D18?

It was really good! Big coffee, which I love so it delivered. Funny enough I mixed d18 and for LC and it was fantastic!

its the “not enough for everyone” tax, and unfortunately put me on the fence. $40 is a hefty price considering I get Sara and floodland for much less

Im at the point where I determine I would appreciate a wine of equivalent or 1/2 price much more, so I usually go that way. I will say, Soleil ‘23 was awesome. Getting more price sensitive in my old age.

I'm at the point where I determine I would appreciate a 30 rack of Busch Lattes and a 4 pack of IPAs before a $40 sour. And not to say I don't like sours, but to me Grisette makes it seem foolish to spend more than $15 on any of them.

Popped open Deca tonight. I love it when a beer tastes like nothing I’ve ever had before. My favorite of the box set so far with Continuance being the only one I haven’t opened yet.

I love seeing these reviews trickle in. I have every intention of cracking it open at a share at some point, but sort of keep forgetting I have it.

Its a very under appreciated beer in my opinion. @pconn10 nailed it, it definitely has some flavors going on that I have never experienced in any other beer. Very complex and has so many different layers. Bold in every way and best at room temperatures. Whilst I enjoy sharing, that is one bottle I am glad I drank solo. Enjoyed the experience over a few hours and was left wishing I had more time with it as every sip gives you a little something more.

Perfect description by you and pconn. I think people get scared away by the port usage, but not being a huge port fan doesn’t mean you won’t love this beer, IMO. It helps to think port is okay, but you don’t have to love it. The barrel and the beer are so frickin’ good on this one.

DECA was a pleasant surprise in every sense.
I also think it helps to enjoy it after we may have forgotten about how much we paid for it.

Looks like the next 2 LC Silent barrels #3 and #4 will be a lottery with 12 members for each getting picked and notified the week of June 3rd, per the Tides 24 email.
