At the brewery last week, the staff was unanimous in their prase for the RL Persona. It was the clear, runaway winner in the pre-tastings they did.

Wonder if any of the others will end up rated nearly as high by everyone else.

Is the street closed for today (w/ tents etc, for the rain?)?

Nope, standard line procedure. No block party set up. Rain definitely kept folks away today; it may have been the shortest line of the week so far, or at least close to it.

D12 has finally fallen off. Took 6.5 years.

FWIW — the TM Persona release today is at least in my Top 2 for the week. Not getting a ton of the other adjuncts, a bit of vanilla and hint of maple (which I enjoyed). But the cocoa punches through for a delicious chocolate-y stout. I’m a big fan.

Not necessarily SP related, but because it was mentioned previously as a potential source for some unpackaged bottles, will be passing through STL this weekend and wondering if there was a TWCP location that was better than the others. I'm not sure why a stop in there has never been on my radar.

I had this on Saturday and once again on Sunday - if it has fallen off, I can't even imagine how good it was 3 years ago (I don't have a point of comparison as this weekend was the first I had it), but I thought it was stellar.

The one on Forsyth in Clayton is the main store.

I had it Saturday and thought the same thing. It was fantastic.

Kirkwood is my local TWCP, probably 10 minutes straight down Manchester from SP. Great selection, and you can pre-order and pickup at all of their spots as well. Allow a day or two in advance for them to move inventory between locations if necessary.

as said Clayton is the main store but you can order online and pick it up where ever, and you can see what's in inventory online as well. I think the blend is gone last time looked a couple days ago, but you could always call and ask them to double check.

Just here to say Persona CK is awesome. Really enjoyed it! Definitely taste the MJK. I saw some folks thought it was hot but I think it is drinking great fresh. The amburana is almost unnoticeable for me and just added to the mouth feel. I thought the curaçao was much less noticeable than 12 year BW with just a slight sweet orange at the finish but you had to be looking for it. If I didn’t read the description, I wouldn’t have know it was there. Just a fantastic beer for me.

MM is a solid cinnamon forward beer and I know RL got a lot of love but it was super sweet. I had 4 oz or so and that was enough for me. My best comparison is it tastes like you are drinking liquid sugar cookie batter. Lots of residual sugar left coating the glass. If you love sweet, you’ll love this beer but it was a little too sweet for me. I was there when the cuvee keg was going and it was definitely great but missed the cherry and maple Personas. Of the ones I had, I’d take CK first pick all day > MM > RL.

Sir, I don't think you're allowed to talk negatively about RL. That could tank trade value.

I've been mulling it over a bit and I think the CK and TM are pretty well tied for my Top 2. Tough call, because I definitely tend to lean more towards boozey, chocolate-y stouts over barleywines (and the TM is definitely the former) -- but the CK is as damn good as you said. The RL is more sweet than I usually go for, I agree, but it is definitely wildly unique. Worth trying a few ounces at least. I never had the Pear Leto so I'm glad I snagged a couple bottles before it sold out (super fast!)

On first pass, the MM was too much cinnamon for me (and I'm one of the goobers that actually likes cinnamon stouts). And despite wanting to love the DD, there was bitter, almost metallic tang on the aftertaste that I had a hard time with. Maybe that was just the cherries, and I'm stupid. But I'll be curious to come back to those later and see if I feel differently.

The FT offers are absolutely hilarious. Shades of the mead boom.
