It's going to be one bottle and then right before renewal decision time you'll get a package with 2 so you keep coming back.
Going to be at least an order of magnitude fewer farm members so lots of options for them to really trigger FOMO
I would not be shocked at all if the first package included a Derivation or something similar as a 'gotcha' to anyone who doubted, but the way they handle it over the long term is what will be of interest.
Farm Club feels like a win for locals and LC members. Not to join, but to open up a new pathway to move styles that the core fans have soured on (heh). If Bottle Logic or Treehouse could ship me a box of beers that their locals didn't love, I'm sure I'd be pretty happy with that, all things considered.
Grabbed a ticket for Friday LC Party. This is only my 2nd year in LC, missed last year's parties, so I'm looking forward to meeting a couple of you fine folks out there this July. For those who've been many times before, what were some of the differences in 2025 vs. previous years...? IIRC they sold D21's to-go at last year's party, but I've heard that in previous years they'd also pull vintage bottles out for sale on-site (which sounds like a great perk in addition to splitting whatever bottles people brought to share). Bummer if that's not a thing anymore.
I was semi interested until someone told me the price; that cured me of that desire. I'd have to get out of some of my other clubs first before considering. But it pointed me to a feature I didn't know about Tavour as there are a handful of places you can join the membership via their assistance.
I also will be there Friday night, first year LC member. What types of bottles are typically brought to events like this? Building a home inventory so didn’t know if Goose Island Anniversary BCBS 2020 or king Henry II would be interesting to others? I also have Cycle CTC (Blanton’s) or Cycle Wednesday 2025. I have a 10th Anniversary King JJJuliusss can too. Just trying to be an active participant. Any advice is appreciated.
I have not verified it myself because I don't know my Tavour login (always have to reset password when the app boots me out) but I was told $250 per 3 month period.
2025 actually had decent included beer and tons of saisons laying everywhere. The January party did have OWK included but nothing else that was really noteworthy. But this is really a big bottle share.
Awesome, that sounds up my alley. Appreciate the context! One of my favorite beer-games is figuring out which bottle(s) to bring to a share, something that’ll stand out as unique but also blend nicely with the field To that end — how strict are they with the one (1) bottle rule? If a rascal were to sneak in a saison *and* a stout, would this be a problem…?
Rye BBT, Continuance, BA Ambiente and several other non ba stouts and saisons showing up on shelves in Chicago.
