Since when? I’ve never had an infected bottle out of the 10-12 I’ve opened.
you know what they say: i’d rather have six bad raspes than a vanilla rye.
i’m totally kidding. i meant the raspe is infected (which of course it is - it’s a wild ale)
I'm slow today...
i was messing about. i guess i’m giddy cuz it’s getting to BBT week.
No doubt. 5 more days of work then I'll be drinking my weight in BBT. Can't wait!
i’ll cheers to that!
How long does BBT typically last on-site? I’ll be in town the Wednesday after the release and wondering if I have a chance.
2017 lasted into 2018 (although it may not have been consistently available but i do remember drinking it several times on-site for the next couple months.). sadly, those days are long gone. BBT2 has hardly ever been on-site and when it has been it’s been draft. it got annihilated last year during BBT weekend and i suspect it to be as bad or worse this year. so while i don’t have a definitive answer for you, i wouldn’t get your hopes up. sorry. the best i can say is to check the cellar’s website, which will be up to date by open.
Wasn’t BBT going to be available for on-site each day of bottle pick-ups? Or do I have that wrong?
that’s the way the details read at the bottom on their website, although it didn’t specify how it would be available (draft or bottle or both).
yes, but @Mplsbrew isn't visiting until the week after BBT, if i’m reading his post correctly.
Ahhh. I’m with ya now. Yeah, I’m guessing it won’t last a minute past the Sunday after Thanksgiving. That’s just a guess tho.
For reasons I can’t recall, 18 was a smaller batch than 17, so they skimped on kegs in order to keep the bottle count similar(though still slightly smaller). My understanding is this year’s batch is the biggest of the three.
No guarantee, but I’d expect draft to be more available this year.
my guess is the best bet for on-site BBT after the initial weekend is the brewery anniversary party.
How about folks that will be there that weekend? Do you need to get there right at open (either cellar or brewery)?
The way the blog made it seem they should have plenty of BBT to last through the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I imagine it will be bottles, but would be happy if it was on draft. They are really good about honoring their commitments. If they say they will have it they will have it.
i bet there’s plenty for BBT weekend. the question posed was AFTER BBT weekend.
I hope Planter's House goes on sale as a "surprise" bottle during BBT pickups. I would also not be surprised if they re-released Ambiente and/or Morning Vibes. Coffee Shop Vibes usually has it's own dedicated weekend. I would be really surprised if they combined that release with BBT. Just gotta wait a couple more days to find out.
i’m just hoping Planter’s is still up on-site at the cellar this week! it sounds great. not too hopeful for a public to-go release as it’s a single barrel (i think?) and was already to-go for members.
the way approached this “surprise” bottle this year is beyond bizarre. i got the feeling we would know by now. i mean how is it not a surprise bottle?
I didn't realize it was a single barrel beer. Will have to pop in today or hope it's around Tuesday or Wednesday.
I am hoping for a non-stout surprise release this week. It is already such a circus atmosphere when BBT is around that additional stouts for sale are only going to make things crazier.
it’s going to be a pig circus either way.
Agree. I'm selfishly hoping for another stout to take home. Make that seven hour drive even more worth it.
Hoping for some great onsite bottles (D12 is prob going to be out, but maybe D13?), but i absolutely won't complain about getting to drink multiple pours of BBT3.
My wife found this before me- SARA collab is the additional to-go
What a cruel joke
This makes me REALLY happy! #SIL
Planter’s House is 100% not having a to go release
same, super excited based on the description. Loved regular Coexpressionalism so excited to try the Kriek!
it sounds like a really good beer.
I’m sure Cory will provide you with a mixed case of D1-12 and personally apologize for not meeting your expectations if you just let him know.
Hey guys my girlfriend and I are flying in from Atlanta Friday morning and leaving early Monday morning. We're staying nearby at The Cheshire and coming to STL specifically for BBT weekend. We were lucky enough to get two bottles togo. This will be my fourth and her second time to Side Project, but we've never been during a big release or event like BBT weekend.
I'm looking for general advice on how to navigate this coming weekend. I'm very averse to standing in line for beer these days, and I don't mind missing a special beer or two if that means I don't have to stand out in the cold and rain. Any pointers to make this an enjoyable, stress free weekend would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
Oh since you put it that way bet fam bet
I have no idea what you are trying to say.
guys, it’s going to be more than okay. CSV in January!
No, yeah, bet
My advice would be to get there at open(or slightly before) but skip the line for the SARA collab. That way you can just go inside right away and sit at the bar. Bartenders are all cool and will help guide you in picking stuff out to drink if you need it.
???? Skip the line for the collab?! No way!!!
