Fobab is $85, Firestone Invitational is about $100 and FoFA is $100. Those are all heavy hitter fests. Food is included at Firestone too. Like all y'all, I love these guys but what justifies the price?

$100 is the max I've seen for festivals that don't include bottles. I'd still pony up if I can get a ticket but we'll see if it's worth a second visit.

For $150 I’d hope they include a to go bottle

I drop $300 every time I step foot in there. I’m getting out easy if I can get a ticket for $150.

They gonna lose money on my big ass with this all you can drink deal.

A lot of people buying Sunsets seemed like they were from out-of-town here to pick up BBT and whatever else they could get to-go.

The claim here is that they pay for all of the beer coming in. A lot of the fests priced lower (GABF is a good example that I know of) I believe do not actually pay for the beer being poured. Those are donated kegs from breweries.

Would be nice to see maybe a price point higher $200-$300(?) akin to what Firestone Walker does (with early entry tickets) with a share (read: some, not all, this is a business after all) of the profits being donated to a local charity. SP has the affluent (hyped?) base to support the price point and can do some good as well while maintaining a small, exclusive event.

The breweries have to donate beer for FOBAB and also pay an entry fee on top of that.

Every festival is set differently due to that local states beer laws. Some are donations, some are paid for, and some are just handshake deals between breweries in good faith that they will return the favor when/if they host a festival of their own.

Doesn’t look like Kriek sold out. Hopefully it will last until I get to town later this week to grab a bottle or two

Talk to me about the Anniversary Party...

Can anyone who went last year recall the on-site bottle list?
Trying to decide if it is worth the 5 hour drive and one night stay.
    Thoughts?
    Cheers!

Last year they debuted the new Double Barrel Derivations (Ruby, Tawny, VSOP), and then had a pretty extensive additional on-site list. Many of them were pretty limited in terms of number of bottles available, but Derivation 6,7,9 & Double Barrel b1, Oude Fermier b2, Tetes, etc. were all on the list.

They're doing magnums to go again this year. Last year some were very limited (Floue Floue, Jammy there were only 6 bottles available), but others lasted.
