How have the crowds been for Candles and BBT days?

This entire stout week has been more tame than last year. Wasn’t bad tonight at all for BBT. Last year there was a line out the door.

That’s awesome to hear! As their production keeps increasing and they continue to be able to their biggest stouts multiple times a year then hopefully this trend of manageable crowds continues.

Now that’s a new one for me. Had to google it for my wife and almost spit out some of the Ambiente I’m drinking after reading it.

Agree. Reached cellar at 6:45. No line. 6 candles, BBT 17 and 18 were gone. Drank my fair share of BBT 19 and it hadn’t kicked as of 9pm. Hopefully I’ll get to have more along with D13 tomorrow.

Awesome that they weren’t doing 1pp. That was the only bummer about cellar anny is that there were so many ppl there it was a half pour per person. Was plenty in hindsight but I wanted to bathe in BBT3 at the time, lol

Absolutely great to see things last longer, no need to line up, etc. I'm somewhat (and pleasantly) shocked that Maple in the Wood is still hanging around. On paper it sounds awesome.

Think the increased availability and lack of a crowd is a combination of many things, but for me personally, when you start approaching the $2/oz and higher threshold, that's really where as a consumer I'm thinking to myself, 'SP makes the best of that style in the area, possibly the country, possibly the world...<looks at wallet>...but...there are all these other breweries quickly making waves and catching up that I can go to and have just as fine a time without as big a hit on the bank account.'

We are currently in a world where craft beer is getting better every month and while it's cool to think SP might eventually bring those prices down over time (because they 'don't have to' I get it), I know it's just not realistic (for now) but here's hoping!

Beer geeks aren't as #bil as they pretend to be.

    I know it's technically #wil

    but still...

Yeah if it was a stout instead of a wheatwine we'd have lines back to kansas. Lower prices, lol, I love that idea but lol.

Speaking of #bil (or #wil)....Saw on their instagram story that they were bottling Anabasis b4...Does anybody have an educated guess on the timeframe between bottling and release on a BA Barleywine like that? I assume that means soon... Thank you friends.

No actual idea, but according to their description of the original anabasis they bottle conditioned for at least a few months
    http://www.sideprojectbrewing.com/anabasis

I would guess that means sometime in the spring

I had heard somewhere that it would be “early Q1”, but we are already past that.

For those not able to get over during the week. Sounds like there should be at least a couple invitational leftovers available at the brewery this weekend. Plus, two releases! Good weekend.
