I might have missed it already but, was TWCP Derivation not offered to LC members? I'm just trying to get a better handle on 'the hate'.

Now it makes sense. Yes, I'd probably be somewhat peeved by it all myself if I was an LC member.

You might have seen what I had to fork over to get my hands on a bottle, and it not being LC member bottle it reaffirms why the asking price is so high. But, we want what we want. Being a non-adjunct, big barrel aged imperial stout fan myself (my favorite style), this beer to me is the 'tip of the spear' in the craft beer realm.

 

i did notice. personally, i put this beer out of my mind a long time ago. i can’t imagine it being better than BBT (none of the other DB Derivations come close for me) so it’s whatever.

and to clarify, there was prior TWCP hate well before this release. some justified; others just spoiled rotten and somewhat unjustified.

 

I don’t think anybody cares that LC didn’t get it. People just don’t like TWCP as a store.

Appreciate the input. I try to stay on top of SP related topics, but I miss them from time to time.

And completely agree on managing the expectation of the beer. BBT b2 + b3,... to date I'd consider both in my personal top 5, and I cannot imagine something tasting THAT much better (or better at all) than either of those two. For me this is an occasion beer and my friend group is all excited to try it. Not because we think it's going to be the best beer ever, but because it's an experience to try something we'll never come across again which is interestingly unique.

The bottle is getting opened tomorrow. None of us wanted to wait long!

DB maple you say, sounds fantastic! Where did you see that juicy detail?
