Side Project / Shared (2021)

i feel like this has always been the case but maybe that’s just my personal experience.

 

Side project does a lot of great events. My ranking:

1. Invitational
2. Zwanze
3. Brewery bday
4. Cellar anni
4. Fermier day (tie for 4th)
5. Beers & Bites (when occurs)

However, I can’t emphasize enough how great it is to go on a Tuesday when the cellar isn’t full and make friends over draft white labels.

 

I'm sure the La Coterie party will rank up there if/when we ever get to attend one

 

How long were they refrigerated before you opened them? It has been discussed that this tends to happen to some of the wilds if they are not in the fridge for 24hrs before popping them.

 

i’m pretty sure it was in the fridge for at least 24 hours (i was actually thinking at least 48 but can’t be certain now)

 

Really wish the anniversaries for the cellar and brewery were in April or something. Don't think I have it in me to sit in the cold for 6 hours so I'm not 2 blocks away in line

 

Sure do miss that 5 hour drive right now…

I've dreamed of the first two. The tap lists and photos I see all the time are utterly ridiculous.

 

If you get lucky and go the day or two after any of those big days they sometimes have a little leftover in the kegs or bottles that didn't get finished and you get the big beers and laid back Tuesday afternoon vibe. Best of both worlds

it occurs to me that earlier in this thread someone posted about “pastry sour” and the amount of vanilla used compared to their stouts and i would say this: i would NOT classify it as “pastry” and the amount of vanilla probably has to be upped to have the effect they wanted it to. those stouts are sweeter at baseline than a sour brown - much more chocolate, and even vanilla and coconut from the barrels. so the amplification of even more sweet vanilla is probably easier to achieve in the stouts with a lower amount of vanilla beans (relatively speaking, of course). i think this explains the amount of vanilla used in Sakura, at least to me.

 

Will we ever see BA coconut vibes again?
