I wonder how many bottles were released as part of that online release. By far the fewest number of winners I have ever seen for an online release.

 

Shared Obscura cans on sale tomorrow. anyone try this on draft yet?

 

Yes. It’s fine. It’s a session stout so it’s not the normal thiccccccness of shared stouts.

 

On nitro it was very nice, reminiscent of a milkshake with the vanilla, which was strong but there's a good amount of roastiness so it's not just sweet. I enjoyed it and am curious to see how the cans differ from nitro.

 

Nitro? I thought it was on cask?

Saturday’s opening draft list is insane though

 

As someone who opted out of the Brewery Birthday this year, it is difficult to see the expansion from Birthday insanity to Birthweekend insanity.

 

Tawny DBD drinking great. A bit thin, but flavors have all melted together and this bottle is like magic.

Also had Bubble Wrap last night and there is a yuuuuuge amount of bottle variability. My first bottle on-site at the cellar was bad and I couldn't finish it - heavy coffee and metallic notes. The bottle I tried at the brewery last night felt like a unicorn was licking my face - creamy vanilla & cinnamon with a nice balance.

Overall fun evening. The brewery countertops looked like a mass Derivation graveyard. Empties everywhere.

 

How long did the D2 bottles last yesterday?

 

5 minutes…i think there were only 2 bottles of 2 and 3.

 

the better question is: are either one of those even enjoyable at this point?

 

Personally I would have passed on D1/2/3 in favor of other beers, regardless of price. Obviously I’d get a pour of OWK, but even that is probably nowhere as good as it was fresh at this point.
