i agree. and not that i haven’t done it before (but i learned my lesson), i don’t get the mark up in price to drink beer well past its prime.

White whale. Thought I’d never try this one. From a flavor perspective it was a bit past it’s prime. A bit of oxidation, thick base stout, but not as thick as some of the newer stuff. The vanilla was still there after all these years and really creamy and nice. Regardless it was still an amazing beer. I really enjoyed each sip and 10/10 would try again if I can.

However, as with most things in beer the journey to get here was better than the beer. I didn’t get there in time to snag a bottle, but I bumped into people I had shared bottles with in the past who were overjoyed to share a pour. The whole event was bonkers. Strangers pouring random derivations into my glass, sharing stuff, catching up with old friends. Really special day.

Today was on par with the Invitational.

Anyone know if they sold out of the to-go bottles of Fermier they had yesterday?

Only like two people in the magnum line ten minutes before open. Wound up being 5th - first four people took the 2x Tete v19 and 2x Tete v18. Was ecstatic to find out the Leaner magnum was b1

Not a knock on you or anyone else that bought them, but I've never quite understood the appeal of a magnum. -Except, perhaps, a wedding. This is sort of a special case, since you might have the ability to buy something vintage that you couldn't otherwise purchase. But for new releases, like years ago where people might buy magnums at various breweries at release when smaller formats are available. Just never understood it.

I think Tete 16/18 were 175, the rest were either 125 or 150 depending on the bottle

I admit to not being hip about value on these things, but I am surprised KdF b2 didn't sell.

I remember Fuzzy magnums selling very quickly during the last release. Maybe people caught wise to the gushing and didn't want to lose 375ml of it on open. (Slight exaggeration.)

So you can walk around a tasting looking hard af brah

Ha no I’ve heard from vinnie at RR back in like 2010, it ages better because of the beer to oxygen ratio in the bottle, and have assumed that ever since

    Actually it was Tete 16.

I would know because I was one of those 4.
