Not sure. Feel like these types always seem to be added live/real time versus posted on the site then the switch flipped when the release happens.

 

Online sales has forever changed the beer game, but I think they were having an issue with the sours not selling out even pre Covid.

 

Sold out after 50 minutes.

I don’t understand who is buying the 4 bottle package. People who don’t know anyone in STL and were too shy to ask a stranger to get them a 2 bottle pack all week? But now they’re looking for a proxy for 4 bottles?

I bought one! I was out of town for the IP release and I already have to drive to STL to pickup my Dimensions of Time set. Also, I like sours and their stuff is top tier. Since I’m not local, I don’t mind the package terribly. Would I like to pay less for fewer bottles … sure, but it’s not easy for me to drop everything to drive to STL on a whim. I’ll pay the package price to pick up the bottles at my leisure with a guaranteed bottle. I’m actually quite excited to try the Plum du Ble. It will probably bite me in the rear when SP puts it back on site without the set, but will it be available to go the day I drive in (TBD). Anabasis is a fantastic beer (at least prior versions I’ve had were) so I’m stoked to get a bottle! Also, I’m not a shy person

 

I think you overestimate the awareness most people had about the 2 bottle pack being available. I'm proxying for 2 people for today's package who I don't believe knew about the 2 bottle package.

 

I bought the 4 bottle package, while I have a STL proxy but they aren’t an LC member. I know a few others who got it as well. I’m not offended by buying beer I like and will drink.

 

You didn't need to be an LC member to get the 2 bottle package though - that's been what the discussion is about.

If it was just LC vs. 4 bottle package, they kinda have you over a barrel (no pun intended)

There were 334 packages left when they took it down. Currently the 2-bottle packs are only available at cellar, but that may change.

 

I had no idea about a 2 bottle package until I looked at this thread. Maybe they are having some trouble selling bottles? Feel like proxying for a 3rd person

 

Did anyone see how many packages it started with? i didn't look - was on a work call.

 

Sorry to throw some water on your conspiracy, but I really doubt this is the case lol.

Plenty of people also don't have a "regular" proxy they use, but simply set it up via social media when they see an online sale occurring.

The fact that 2-bottle packages were available throughout the week was not heavily advertised on social media. The online sale of the 4-bottle package was.

I think it's that simple.

 

Did you read Beer_economicus’ post above where he states there were 334 packages left when they pulled it?

He wrote that because it’s true.. there were not many more than that number available from the very beginning.

 

I didn't check at the beginning, but before it was pulled down, I also got the same number. 334 packages.

Also - i don't know what the poster above means about the 2 bottle packages not being heavily circulated on social media - it's certainly how I found out about it.
