I remember D12 was around for a 2-3 weeks for its initial release and then taken off just before BBT week. Then they added D13 for BBT week to make it an especially awesome week.

yep, then brought D12 back for a spell and then took it off again for the tasting room anniversary in December, and then brought it back again because i remember going down the weekend after the anniversary to grab coexpressionalism kriek and the tasting room being completely empty and having D12 yet again. definitely a contributing factor to why it lasted as long as it did.

I'm no ciceron but here we go.....

Look- Murky tootsie-roll brown with no head. Lots of slender legs crawl down the glass when swirled.

Smell- Sweet oak with vanilla and a heavy presence of spirits.

Taste- Port like tannins, dark fruit, booze, light vanilla. Long finish.

Feel- Creamy and coats the mouth with a nice light carbonated fizzle.

Overall - Worldclass blended beer. Nothing more to say.

Drinking a DB generational tonight to celebrating bringing home my baby girl. I still stand by my statement of this being my favorite beer of the year. It's so good and complex for a non adjunct stout.

Congrats @jmlhd7 ! Nothing better than being a dad/parent! I cracked Rye BBT last night to celebrate the biggest ass whooping in 8U softball history as my daughter’s team played in an open tournament for the first time ever. Holy hell, these kids out there are serious! We had a blast, kids learned a lot, and Rye BBT is a Mona Lisa Rye. Pure and exquisite expression of art.

@jmlhd7 Congrats! If this is your first, it's a wild ride. As long as you want to be a parent, you'll probably be a good parent, and you'll cherish it. As @rmpic82 said, being a dad is the best. It's the best thing I've ever done in my life, and the love for my daughter isn't the same or comparable to the love for my wife. It's a whole new type and level of love that can't be explained - only experienced.

For mothers - especially those that breastfeed - that comes almost immediately and only grows. For most men, it takes time. As soon as my daughter got to the point that she could walk, she could explore the world in a whole new way. From then until now (she's 2.75yrs), it's only gotten better, and my love has grown in ways I couldn't possibly fathom. I thought I understood that whole, "I'd do anything - I'd go without - I'd die for my kid" mentality before having a kid, but it wasn't until now that I really understand it.

There's nothing better, nothing more fulfilling than spending as much time with your kid, giving them your full attention, and soaking it all up. Time has never gone quicker than with a kid, and in no-time it'll become evident just how much you want to cherish every last moment.

    Congrats again.

Thank you for the kind words and incredibly thoughtful response @Beer_Economicus, I really appreciate it! I can't wait to feel that same way as she gets older and spend more time with her.

Does anything fun happen 11/12-13? I was thinking about doing a day trip down to visit. I went back for the first time in early spring, and it was phenomenal.
