This will be my first stout from the SP/Shared umbrella. I hope it's worth 40, but I bet it's better than some of the ba boilers that went for $50 a bottle last year. Post capitalism.

Ouch. I've yet to have any BA Boiler but they are on my radar. Not too good?

Boiler bottles got out of hand quick. I will venture that this should be better. The vibes base is thicker than anything boiler does (I’m a member there and still like them, but viscosity is not their strongsuite)

I’ve had some really good draft pours of Boiler. Very, very, very good. The only bottle pour I’ve had was Coco Killa AF (20), I believe? That was better than Coco Noche for me. I had a draft of Coco Killa AF 21 and Bourbon Smores and I was absolutely floored. Fabulous. Not sure how much difference between draft and bottle, but I’ve enjoyed my limited experience with that brewery.

Ambiente and MV were under $40 i believe. i think it’s just the coconut ones (although this one could be because of the banana nibs too - i remember reading or hearing that those were quite expensive when they did BV)

Not to turn this into a Boiler thread but Coco AF is well worth the $50 IMO. As well as a few other bottles they put out. I'll also agree they got out of hand putting out as many $50 bottles as they could last year. Some didn't fit the bill and it felt a little money-grabbish. I think members will learn to be a little more choosy in 2022.

That said, I'm on team bananas and can't wait to try Flambe!

MV b2 was $40. Hopefully Ambiente stays at $30 in the future.

Tickets on sale at the cellar right now, says this is the last chance for in person sales

But now much lactose does boiler use tho? Probably unthoughtful quantities.

I thought the standard metric for lactose was measured in Courics?

Heading out to STL for stout week. Just wondering, do I need to get there at opening to try all the stuff? Like would DB Derivation for onsite sell out right away? Or do any of the Derivation drafts kick?

Also, if anyone is interested in sharing some onsite bottles, let me know!

I doubt DBD bottles sell out at open just because of the sheer number they have, but after symmetry lasted on site for like 8 hours total who knows

I would encourage you to be there at open. That way your guaranteed to try what you came for. Plus that will allow you to leave earlier. It will be busy, but will be more crowded later in the day.

also, the earlier you get there the more comfortable your seating arrangement will be. although to be honest, there is no getting comfortable when the cellar is packed.

Hit or miss. Depends on what you like, I guess. Not shitting on them. But price wise when reffering to last year, 50 a bottle was kind of overkill IMO. Overall, I have enjoyed 70% of their stuff. I am excited to try a Shared regardless.
