Is there a full list out yet? Also anyone have insight on the source that released the partial list? Strange it didn't come from SP and was curious if Cory approved that announcement.

This is from SP’s IG, 3 days ago. The official posted list. The list that preceded this was from a Full Pint article. I believe someone posted the link in the thread when it was released by them. They’re attending the event so I’d imagine they got the okay to post it to their article.

It’s weird people were skeptical of the full pint list. They’ve been around for years.

I mean it was incorrect though about American Solera and Perennial’s offerings.

I mean sure, but the vast majority was correct so that must have been the list at some point.

If anyone cares that they served Fuzzy B4, they're doing the invitational wrong.

    Also Anabasis b3.

Don’t really think people cared that Fuzzy b4 was there but it is a fact that that was significantly better than most of the other Saisons/wilds there, including the very overrated West Ashley Cuvée

The brewery that brought it in addition to Side Project was Moksa. They had a ton of bottle pours in addition to Midnight Abundance and their brewer was dope as hell. I also immensely enjoyed speaking to the brewers from Cycle, 3 sons, Bruery, and Private Press. Overall a high quality event.

    What were peoples top 5?

I know this is not inherently the place for this discussion, but in my opinion there are 4 things that play into the idea of a beer 'living up to the hype':

    1. Is this style not only in my wheelhouse, but likely my favorite style?
    2. Is this brewery my favorite? Top 3?
    3. How often am I honest/critical of this brewery?
    4. How long have I lusted after this beer (i.e. how much has it been built up in my mind)?

If the answer to 1 & 2 isn't Yes, and the answer to 3 isn't "rarely", the beer is almost always a let down. Part of that is because there is very little difference at the top end of the spectrum. How much better is a 4.7 vs. a 4.8? When people say, "This is the best XXXX I've ever had, and it's not even close" is always hyperbole. For it to 'not even be close' you have to be giving that a 5, and everything else has to be a 4.5 or less. It can be the best in the category, but 'not even close'? Come on.

Being honest with yourself helps a lot to stemming the tide. I say this, but I'm not immune; I am often let down. Based on the high score, I was pretty surprised/bummed by my review of TWCP Derivation last year.

Side comment: I've paid some decent prices for pours of whiskey at bars. I've been far less often let down by those pours than by beers, and I enjoy beer more.

Super hot take: Waxley is a bad beer. Definitely the disappointment of the day.

In no particular order, top 5 were:
    MJK
    BA Heart & Sole
    D12
    OWK
    Kent the Otter

Medianoche Reserve, Midnight Abundance, & Elijah’s Creed also garner special consideration. Moksa definitely brought it hard to this event. Props to Phase 3 too.
