Every time I check out with TWCP I forget how many things you have to click. This does not seem like it is going to be a quick fingers release when it opens to the public.

They advised against this if you’re using a proxy so they said to check out as a guest. Something to do with shipping default, but not sure if that is accurate or not.

 

Site already crashed

 

I'll be in St. Loius for a wedding and this was absolutely clutch to secure a package for pick up while I'm there.

 

ah the good old days of website crashes...

 

Took one look at their website this morning and thought, how‘s that gonna hold up with traffic? No surprises on the crash.

 

I suppose it's easier when the website makes the decision for me.

After 30 great minutes, I’ve finally placed an order.

 

I would think that the no limit aspect would cause far more people to try than what might try normally for just a "normal" SP release. The same people (must be something to do with internet providers and location more than just speed) seem to win the SP 'lottery' every go, meaning that a majority of the people that lose are the same as well. So, when there's no limit I'd assume more people are talked into it.

My point being, I'm sure this didn't help the site to keep from crashing and burning.

I eventually got through at 11:53 AM, but what a shit show... bummed that the pickup window doesn't overlap w/ Zwanze/Brewery Anny. Had my eyes on that DB Anabasis so for all you lucky ones that get some... hope you enjoy. Now I gotta figure out if I'm gonna drive or find a proxy.

Ping (sort of the quickness that your internet is able to communicate between you and the server you are trying to reach) is a huge contributing factor to something like this. Similar to online gaming, if your ping is bad, you’ll lag a ton. Lag can cause pages to time out and crash before communication completes. High speed internet is kind of a misnomer as the “speed” just describes the bandwidth or volume of data that can be sent within a given period of time. If your ping still sucks, it doesn’t matter how much volume of info you can send because it won’t get there in time.

 

The people talking about the TWCP website makes me think of the days of bogging down evenbrite for TG Morning Delight tickets. Some things in craft beer never change lol

 

All I can say is Brown Paper Tickets… Eventbrite is next level compared to BPT

Yep, just got my pickup email for their Kirkwood store. I would imagine they get them all out today or tomorrow.
