I think D6 just happened to drop that weekend as there was also a bottle release at the brewery. La Ruche batch 2 maybe? Was the brewery even open in August?

 

Any word yet on if or when For Phil will be seeing a public or online release?

 

correct. La Ruche b1 was summer 2017.

 

They haven’t said anything about whether or not a beer is getting a public release for around a year now

 

I am excited for For Phil but.. I haven’t liked a Maman in years. I hope this has more SP influence despite the fact it’s almost half perennial stout.

 

Has anyone had the Perennial 10th anniversary stout which was also a SP/Perennial blend? Was it good and did it feel more like a Side Project or Perennial stout ?

 

i thought it was good. not BBT-level but kind of like how Maman used to be.

 

Much better than recent versions of Maman, in my opinion. I really liked it, but still not BBT good as Luscious mentions. It was worth drinking.

 

What are your thoughts on recent versions of Maman? I was looking to trade for Maman since I haven't had it before but maybe it's not worth trading for?

 

Maman is still good. 2018 is a sleeper year for sure (personally, i wouldn’t go older than that plus 17 is like double the asking price, 16 was infected and 15 is like whale status and probably shit by now). 19 & 20 were solid but not quite there with Assassin 19 or Generational (just to make a few non-adjunct BA stouts) let alone BBT.

 

Maman 17 was better than BBT 17 for me. It’s getting up there in age though. Maman 18 was a bit better than 20, which were both a lot better than 19 for my taste. I’d consider climbing the (cost) ladder and start by trying to grab a BL Deprecophobia, which outpunches its weight class, and maybe ISO the Perennial 10th Anniversary. Both of those are quite good. Maybe wait for next version of Maman if you want to grab one?

 

I've drank a couple BBT and Maman of the same vintages back to back and each one provides a great experience. Different for sure but I continue to look forward to Maman every year.
