Well they made a metric +^%} ton of it, so I’m sure you’ll be in luck.

All I know is I’m not even going to bother going tomorrow. I don’t want to have to get there at 8am to guarantee a bottle.

Tomorrow will be real interesting. Lot of people have to work. I’m also trying to decide if it’s worth trying.

Saw a ton of this today. Empty chairs all over the place that suddenly magically filled right before open. Weird.

Such an easy thing to police, and for all of the minutiae they get right, it sucks to see this happen. If it falls to other people in line to check people who are holding spots or allowing people to join them mid-line, that's just not gonna turn out well for anyone.

I hate this more than I should - jackwagons that feel like a f***ing chair is “their” spot. Get out of line for restroom and the like, but not show up hours later

Have to admit that this level spot saving or dropping off a book bag or piece of luggage was shocking to me. I’m not one to come in from out of town and just “what the fuck’ing” everyone in line but I was certainly surprised that this is apparently normal (or at least appeared to be)

I don’t think the spot claiming/saving is *that* rampant - the ratio of people to chairs, bags, whatever was pretty close to 1 when I got there at 7:30 this morning. What tends to happen as the morning goes on is visiting friends/shares elsewhere in the line, taking turns getting breakfast somewhere, etc.

All that being said, I am still judging the fuck out of you if you’re casually walking into brewery parking lot with a giant cooler or backpack hours after everyone else did.

Doing this and going up to the line share or whatever has been the norm for a decade

This. And prior to this weekend I can’t name another SP line release that if you were in line by release time you didn’t get a bottle.

The only one I can think of is the first big magnum release they did like 6 years ago

Per Facebook, seems like there was just an obscene amount of line cutting going on, and people just stand by and watch it happen. It’s like there’s some social construct going on where civility must be maintained. I’m just imagining a breaking point where all hell breaks loose and it turns into an angry mob because one too many people cut the line.

A bunch of out of shape middle aged men who haven’t done any physical activity since high school gym class brawling in the streets of Maplewood? The true surprise gift of the weekend…one can only hope.

To clarify - I wasn't in the bottle purchase line so I can't speak to that - but lines to get into the brewery/cellar for pours quickly turned from "oh, looks like there's 15 chairs / bookbags, that's not too bad" to 75 people just waltzing in line to claim those 15 items 4 minutes before open.

I have been in line all week, and “cut f liners” is f___ real :slight_frown:. Someone told me that this hasn’t been that crowded since 2019, so maybe next time they give tickets to the folks who are in line, or maybe not

Friday: Got at 11:00, line was by the Funeral Service. Easiest day of the week
Saturday: Got at 10:00, line was much bigger, was 30 yards behind. Sold out 10 people ahead of me (drank a bottle at The Cellar)
Sunday: Got at 7:45. Line was by the Funeral Service. It didn’t appear to be that much people.. but by 12:30, Parking Lot was F Crowded (got my bottle)
Monday. Have a meeting at 11:00, then lunch.. so I won’t be able to make it til 14:30..

if you don’t wanna buy bottles, just avoid these events, come by Tuesday/Wednesday and you’ll mostly try everything you want (besides the specials Draft Offerings). That being said, I met some great guys in Saturday (they were from Chicagoland), and Sunday (Boston and Chicago)

Apparently the line is already out of the parking lot
