I haven't had the same beer luck you have so far but I found Banshees of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All At Once to both be really rewarding, entertaining experiences. And I've got a bottle of VWBBT on in the mail soon so hopefully we disagree on beer and movies

Going into the theatre to see Everything Everywhere I knew next to nothing about it other than it was a "little different". Blew me away, incredible movie.

Despite not enjoying it as much as I hoped, I’m still excited for what the dudes who did this along with the guy who did Banshees has in store next. Love their previous movies (Swiss Army Man, In Bruges, Three Billboards).

I thought VW bbt was the best one yet

Would love to see folks do a blind tasting of BBT 22, Rye 22 and VWBBT see if folks can actually guess which is which. I bet it would be all over the place.

I think I said this before, but I tell ya, I couldn't hardly tell the difference between RBBT b1 and that same year's BBT side by side. Both delicious beers, but felt kind of wounded slaying both in the same night not knowing it would basically be the same exact palate experience, for me. And I normally love the distinct effect rye has on beer, whether malt or barrel.

i’d like to think i could at least pick out Rye 22 as it was one of the best BBTs ever and regular 22 and VW fell quite a bit short for me. the common denominator here…. hype bourbon barrels

With the big caveat that I haven't yet tried vwbbt, curious how it'll compare for me. The magic of bbt has always been the blending of different recipes, barrels and ages to create something amazing and this lacks that. I view this pretty differently from bourbon where its all the same recipe but the barrels/placement/etc make some single barrels stand out more than others or have off-brand characteristics. Don't have a view yet (hopefully soon) but will be fun nonetheless.

Yeah, I haven't had the pleasure trying VWBBT, but seems like one of the biggest money grabs ever by SP.

again, it wasn’t a bad beer but should have been $35 instead of $60. oh well.

Unless you guys (and a lot of others) won't buy the next one, the price was just right.

I can't tell you how many times I've opened a $200 bottle of wine that didn't give me half the satisfaction of the van winkle BBT at $60. Beer is not wine, but at 15% ABV and an experience that is often reserved for special occasions or special company, it kinda feels like it. I'm not drinking vw BBT alone on a Wednesday night, rather I'll open it with company on a special occasion. It's not hard to justify that kind of money for me if those are the circumstances I am opening it. Especially when I can tell my friends that the beer is one of the best in the world, which is true. If I wanted to say that about wine or whiskey, I'd be spending a lot more.

I personally thought vw BBT was one my favorite BBTs, up there with BBT 2019. Agree with @not2quick I'm not sure how it would fare in a blind taste test. I'd probably do something crazy like select Dragon's milk as my favorite with BCBS 2016 as my second favorite.

except it’s not one of the best in the world. not even close. that was my original point.
