Personally never been a fan of it but I am an avid cinnamon hater so there's that. Only adjunct I hate more is chilis so anything with both is definitely a hard pass.

I do agree that it has fallen far from the beer it once was though. I've been subjected to several different vintages over the years due to a buddy who insists on bringing it to our shares and there has been a very noticeable decline in quality.

If liking those early batches of BA Abraxas is wrong, I don't want to be right.

2014 is still a top 5 experience for me. I wonder how it would stack up with beer now. Hard to believe that was almost a decade ago.

I'm guessing no one wants to split my ten year vertical of Abraxas after this next release then...?

Seriously though, idk why I did that. Started picking them up and around year 6-7 figured I may as well hold out for ten. May end up donating the bottles to a bar so long as they pour me a sampler of each.

CSV is one of my favorite beers. My CSV mug is still my go-to coffee mug too.

On a more serious note, didn't they release several coffee beers this year for Maplewood Caffeine Crawl? Would that have impacted CSV release size?

I've never attended this event, but always wanted to, so not sure what the base beer is for that coffee stout.

I’ll take all you ba ambient, I’ve loved both batches of it so far. Regular is ok, and I think is more suitable in the can tbh

Realized today that absence makes the Content Moderator taste better.

probably past that point since that’s essentially young CM. it’s typically come out first, then CM a month or so later.

2014 BA Abraxas was probably a mount rushmore beer for me. Heck even Coffee abraxas back in 2014 was incredible. I have all the hope in the world for Ambiente when it came out and it never quite hit like those older vintages of Abraxas did.

Were we all just living in a peak cinnamon, chile and vanilla quality era and didn't know it?

In all seriousness, I've noticed the past few years (or more) of vanilla beers, no matter who brewed them, just haven't been quite what they were before Madagascar got ripped a new asshole. Surely that can't have much to do with Abraxas or Ambiente, but the quality or consistency of adjuncts is still an interesting aspect to think about.

We had a share in January and opened 2012-2014 Abraxas, 2013-2014 BA Abraxas and I still have stains around my sink from everyone drain pouring these beers. The 2013 BAA was best, but the bar was pretty low by that point....

Side by side these were 2 totally different beers. The rye Reverberent had more depth of flavor (probably from the rye spice) and had a lot of those dark fruit notes pop from the base beer. The bourbon Reverberent in comparison came off as more one note to me. The bourbon barrel was not really showcased as well as the rye and the base beer came off as more muddied. Even the dark fruit notes of the bourbon compared to rye were subdued. As a comparison, I prefer regular BBT to rye BBT, so I was surprised I liked the rye Reverberent a lot more.

It appears Content Moderator is no longer available to-go at the brewery. That was fast.

I recall @bread_c said he thought the sweetness levels were comparable to MiTW when he tried them, curious to hear what you thought after having them? Was your experience similar?
