Box set coming?? Been a long time coming!

 

I'll bite. WTF does this mean? Is this a fight club thing? Can't seem to locate anything.

 

Having trouble posting it, but @Beeslo on IG posted a reel of a fancy looking, SP-branded, wooden box.

We're all hoping it's a Silent Barrel box set, when it reality it's probably a fancy new container for pickup slips and pens at the brewery.

Looks like an expensive 10yr $400 box set a la ADWTD, very old, etc.

1 bottle, 2 glasses? Maybe Zalto glasses, push the price to north of $600?

Honestly, if it is in a box, I just hope it is unique. @Affinity 's suggestion would fit the bill (although I don't like brett, personally). At the end of the day, price and availability will dictate who buys, but from my standpoint I just want to see it be something unique. MJK was really unique compared to other BWs they have released, so IMO that fits. I'd just hate to see this be something like VW BBT, or a "10yr" version of 1 or more sours. I mean, VW BBT is cool, but not sure it is deserving enough, and it still isn't really clear to me what makes these "10yr" blends different.

I assume everyone's concern with the box is whether you are paying for the box. This is the concern for any brewery that has special packaging (i.e. beer price inflation because of packaging). I mean, obviously the box is cool, but unless there is internal carving or something else standout, seems highly probably it is just unnecessary (and expensive) packaging. Also, the bar is pretty high for "cool, display-worthy packaging" - ain't nothing as cool as that first ADWTD box.

 

Just give me that box with four bottles of DBA in it, please.
