I guess due to the number produced. I didn't make that up, that is just what they have been selling for on "those sites".
Wow, that's crazy. I thought that SP wine stems are frequently available at the source for purchase...guess that I am wrong about that. Approximately how many SP stems were produced?
Not sure. Most have said 500 and some were recently sold at the brewpub as leftovers from the first time they were made. All assumptions as someone else can speak to this more accurately than I can.
I failed to purchase one when they went on sale online but stumbled across one on an auction site a few months ago for $30. The same guy put two up for auction - shoulda gotten the other one as well. Haven't seen any since. I thought it was going to be a really delicate glass but it turned out to be a hefty, solid glass. Impressive glass indeed.
they sold out not long after being released. I think some where held back for purchase at the brewpub but beyond that, nothing and those were in small numbers.
Its the same glass as HF wine stems just the SP logo instead if HF logo. I dig the HF and SP wine stems! The best glass out there in my opinion; a glass that works with every beer and as you mentioned I think they are pretty sturdy as well.
The Wine and Cheese Place in St. Louis has Perennial wine stems for around $8. I know they don't say Side Project but they're still really nice.
I had been told that more SP stems would be coming in the future. Granted "future" could mean anything from next month to next decade. Assuming they aren't super limited at release time I'll gladly take care of anybody that wants one. Looking back, I should've gotten 10 instead of 3
