I can't seem to find a thread about this, which is surprising, especially since the beer is already on shelves here in New Mexico. Here's the info on SN's website:

    http://www.sierranevada.com/beer/specialty/ipa-variety-pack

For those to lazy too hit the link, the new 4 way pack includes Ruthless Rye, Blindfold, Torpedo and a newbie, Golden IPA.

Cool, I've had all but the new Golden. Hopefully I can try it as a single.

Does anyone actually like black IPAs?

As someone who loves IPAs and loves stouts/porters, I've had maybe 2-3 black IPAs that were good and none that were otherworldly.

Are you planning to change your BA handle to Neomexicanus? I just opened up SN's Wild Hop IPA last night and liked it a lot. You'd think this would be in the New Mex regional 4 pack.

Didn't think I would....til I tasted the offerings from Stone (Sublimely Self-righteous) and Firestone (Wookey Jack)...actually the 21st Amendment (Back in Black) is tasty as well...and Lagunitas Night time

    changed my mind/taste buds....

    but...all roll differently...as they should

I like black ipas, but yeah, none of the ones I've tried truly blow my mind. Black Hatter is the only one I regularly buy

    Yes

And looking at my ratings there is very little difference between the IPA and Black IPA's I have had from the same brewer. Now if I could only convince the Alchemist or Lawson's Finest to make one.

Looks like a good box. That session IPA in the last one kept me from buying more boxes.

Black Top by New Glarus is really good.

That Golden IPA looks to be quite the bitter beer. It's finishing gravity is identical to their Pale Ale but with 55IBU instead of 38.

Probably will have to pick a pack up. I've never tried Ruthless Rye and I enjoyed Blindfold. Always a fan of Torpedo, and curious about the newbie.

I thought I hated black ipas too until I had Black Rajah from Brew Kettle. Trade for it if possible.

I have yet to have a black IPA that I didn't like - i like how the slight roastiness sits behind the hops and adds some body. My favorite ones are Wookie Jack, Stone Sublimely, one made at this nanobrewery nearby called Device. I'm buying the 4 way next time I see it.

When exactly is it supposed to hit the stores anyone know? And also when is ruthless Rye supposed to hit the stores? I know "spring" But does anyone know the month or week?

The black IPA is the same as the last 4-way IPA pack and I thought it was pretty tasty. Still not sure how I feel about black IPAs in general, but it was good nonetheless.

I'm excited to try the new Blonde IPA, since an actually pale India Pale Ale sounds intriguing. Hopefully it's not as funky as Boomerang IPA from the Snowpack, but similar in color and body and whatnot.

I saw it in my local store here in NM yesterday. Should be on its way nationwide if I had to guess.

Blindfold wasn't in the last 4 way as far as I remember. It was a Beercamp beer (pre-Beer camp collabs) though, I think. Maybe my memory is failing me though.

    Love them!

Black Rajah, Lagunitas Night time amongst others, and I always have Sublimely Self-righteous on hand. Great change of pace I really enjoy and seek out.
