I know it was stated in the "New Release Thread" that this beer has already made it to Houston. I wanted to know people's opinions of it and know how fast this has been moving off the shelves. I have about a week until I get back home and was trying to gauge whether I will have a shot at picking some up or if it will be all gone by the time I get there.

Everything Sierra Nevada seems to be plentiful these days, including special releases like Brux and Hoptimum. I wouldn't worry too much about missing out on Narwhal.

I'll be at Smith street in about an hour, I'll let you know.

There seemed to be plenty at midtown Spec's Wednesday night. Worst comes to worst, I can spot you a bottle.

Any opinions on the brew. I didn't see any updates on your blog. Hopefully it won't come to you having to spot me a bottle but I appreciate the offer.

This is what I was afraid of. Hopefully some of the outlying Spec's will still have some when I get back home. I live in the Clear Lake region so there is a handful of stores for me to check at.

I live in Clear Lake too. D&Q got it off the truck as I was browsing. My friend and I got a case to splitz. So there are at least 9 cases left.

Well, hopefully nine cases lasts for over a week. If not it isn't the end of the world. Have you heard anything about the Spec's in our area getting any or is it just the Main Spec's on Smith that got some?

I haven't asked, but from what I've heard I think it should be pretty widely distributed, and I don't think it's a one-off batch like Pumpkinator.

Narwhal has hit shelves in San Antonio.

According to their website it was a limited release. I know it doesn't have the following that pumpkinator had so hopefully the shelves won't be bare.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

I also strongly suspect that while midtown Spec's appears to currently not have bottles, there are either a) more in back or b) more on their way. Sierra Nevada is good at many things, but distributing rare beers to TX is not one of them.

    I'm not good with words.

Try the Specs Galveston, the Shell on 528, the Specs in Friendswood and anywhere else you saw Hoptimum sitting around (it was easy to get and this is in a similar distribution)

Also, a one off is a beer that will never be brewed again (Jester King Whiskey Rodeo, Divine Reserve series). Pumpkinator is a single batch seasonal release. Now, Ill gladly take a bottle of Gotslandicka for that knowledge i just dropped everywhere.
