I had it when it got released last year, but haven't checked it recently because of a lengthy lapse in freshness. From memory, it was pretty good but you're not going to mistake it for a legitimate German Helles because it's got that ubiquitous Sierra Nevada flavor profile (the yeast, maybe?). That being said, I think that it was good value for money and would buy it again if fresh.

Has it become a seasonal? Found it last year by chance. Well made beer, per-usual for SN, but not a very impressive Helles.

I think it is seasonal but wasn’t sure. I don’t see a year round lager from SN anymore

Never saw it here in Chicagoland - I know @steveh found some in WI at some point. I suspect it was one of those very limited regional distributions.

You may be right but on their website it show’s released all of 2020. Maybe limited to Colorado and Cali

They have a number of beers that are listed as "year round" but in reality are very hard to actually find on shelves since they are brewed year round but only in limited quantities and when ordered. I believe @SierraTerence has mentioned this in regards to stout/porter in the past.

Yep. In this case it is a west coast only distro. Called Mills River and they said it is brewed in Chico for now

Interesting. It must be only certain parts of the west coast too. I live in southern California and have never seen it anywhere. I was hoping that when they started doing online orders it would be available then so I could order some and give it a try, but nope. Same with Southern Gothic.

On a side note, I see yet another IPA is releasing soon, Big Little Thing IPA.

I live in SoCal and haven't seen it this year yet. Last year I think I only saw it in mixed packs....not as stand alones (if I remember correctly). It was fine....not particularly memorable.

If we're still talking about Skiesta, I found it in six-pack cans (full cover) in Wisconsin last year.

Back in September I asked @SierraTerence whether Sierraveza was still a year-round beer and he replied:

“It still is, but like so many brands, it's being deprioritized by our distributing partners.”

It seems like only the APA (i.e., SNPA) and IPA brands of Sierra Nevada are consistently available nationwide?

It will be ‘interesting’ to see whether Summerfest will be released next year as the summer seasonal.

    Cheers!

Ive seen the little something hazy one (can't remember the exact name) and those "little something" beers being stocked in the SN shelf space at my local grocery stores and such, so it seems like they are really leaning into that IPA/sour sector like you noted.

At this point, I would guess they'll brew it but it won't get the big national roll out in years past - that being said, I wouldn't be shocked if it disappeared for a year or so either.

It was in a Costco variety pack with Southern Gothic, SNPA, and something else (maybe Torpedo?). It was fine, if unremarkable.

Torpedo, yes. Crowd Pleaser (aka club store) pack so may have been available at Sam's Club too possibly.

I’d like to see that pack appear again at Costco. It was a great selection and the only opportunity to have either Skiesta (good) and Sothern Gothic (fantastic) here locally. Unlike many regarding flagships in mix packs, I like the inclusion of Torpedo and the Pale Ale because it reminds me how much I like them.

I bought a 6 last summer. It is an “American” version of a helles; okay, but nothing to write home about.

I agree. That was a SN mix pack in which all 4 options appeal to me. Sorry I missed out on it. Plus it was all cans which was a nice feature. Hope to see it again but it seems apart from SNPA and Torpedo, they've changed the other two up over the past few releases (Dankful & Tropical Torpedo, BFD & Hop Bullet)
