Yep, marvel. Place me firmly in the camp that considers this beer incredible. Just because the recipe is older in terms of what's in fashion these days from pale ales (many of which are IPAs anyways) doesn't make it any less of a beer.

I consider IPAs gateway beers. They were the first style I was into ten years ago, and they're even more approachable today. Heady Topper doesn't get all the press it deserves because it's difficult to appreciate. On the contrary, I find so-called "simple" beers such as many German styles to be less approachable, and IPAs are the gateway to these beers.

It will be available in super-limited draught. Most likely only in Chico and Berkeley and at very limited accounts.

No, it will only be available in the mixed pack. Unless retailers split them, that is.

The Coffee Stout is 6.2% ABV and Boomerang is 6.7% ABV.

The beers are pretty similar, actually. The sampler Coffee Stout is lower ABV but with more coffee flavor, but it does have lactose as well for a fuller body and a touch of sweetness.

I'd have bought a case each of the Coffee Stout and Boomerang IPA if they were available in such a format. I drink SNPA and the Porter plenty already. Hate to have to buy more just to try the others, but it appears it will be a necessary evil.

Before reading this I was eager to grab one of these variety packs but now I'm downright impatient. Thanks a lot, sierranevadabill. :stuck_out_tongue:

If the coffee stout is good they have to make it a stand alone six-pack or at least a seasonal six-pack.

I don't understand all of the hate on Pale Ale... Never mind that it is a classic, never mind it is arguably responsible for the hop explosion, never mind it is something like 70% of top line sales; it is still to this day, a fantastic beer. I recently enjoyed some week old Pliny (ok we killed 3) courtesy of my father, then had a couple pales right after, we did not regret that decision in the slightest, nor were we disappointed. In fact we both commented on how well it stood up against it. It deserves every bit of fame it receives.

I for one welcome Pale Ale at any time, regardless of what it is packaged with. I say keep the pale flowing, because if the *worst* beer in a pack is pale, then the rest are damn fantastic.

Hate to complain, but man is this early. Feel like I've gotta go out and find a fall pack tomorrow since this new pack makes them obsolete. Impressive bundles nonetheless considering this year is the first go-around. Keep it up SN.

This looks good, I just wish they would omit the flagship Pale Ale from their sampler 12-pks.

Just picked this pack up yesterday, and I must say that the coffee stout is phenomenal! Digging into the Boomerang tonight.

Can't wait for this! Celebration should be out soon too. Also, Narwhal should be in SE PA by now.

Have not had their coffee stout. Considering how good SN Porter is, I'm sure it's tasty.

Oh, bitch, bitch, bitch. Oh no, they put their excellent flagship beer in their sampler pack! Whatever will we do? After all, they're forcing us to buy these things. Good gravy, are people spoiled these days, or what?

Also, for people saying that diehards don't go for this sort of thing anyhow: wrong. Been drinking craft for a decade and I'll never pass up great beer at a great price. Not all of us are whale chasers.
